I haven’t read the article, but it could be taken somewhat out of context. The context of the ‘fear’ being that an Israeli attack, justified or not, could be problematic for US policy in the region.

One wonders why the operation orders have not yet been issued? I am reasonably certain that the targets have been selected. Perhaps, there are to be some additional ground operations that require more planning.

Somewhere in the northern Pacific ocean there is an Ohio class SSBN commander "dialing down" two tubes of Trident D5 missiles' warheads to 350kt a piece. He and the XO are feeding the GPS coordinates to each missile as they insert their keys into the fire control panel. Each of the ten warheads have now been targeted on Busher, Nantaz, Qom, etc., with one warhead aimed at Ahmanutjob's and the mullahs' most recently known location. A "Flash" message has just come in to launch the birds. The countdown begins, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5,...
The keys are turned simultaneously...

Note to Amadinnerjacket:
In a test, we obliterated two missiles outside the atmosphere today. This was done from Aegis-class ships (like the ones steaming near you) and not from ground bases. Just thought ya might want to know.

They had plenty of time and opportunity to step down off the axis. Now it’s ‘lose billions of dollars worth of facility’ time.

I have had similar thoughts on that one. Putin is foaming at the mouth of lately because he sees things are not going to go well in Iran. Russia is going to lose quite a few more billion before it is all said and done. Pipelines will be delayed, arm sales almost meaningless, etc..
Whenever the US, Brits, French, and Germans start to huddle up , the adversary should really start to worry.
Meanwhile the little lion and his cronies are worrying when they are next on the list. And they all brought it upon themselves.

But what if Israel bombs Iran before US and British leaders can hand Israel to the Arabs and Persians?
[Little irony and a little truth there.]

I read the article and seems that the number of 3,000 operational could be considered previously a green-light to have them eliminated. I found it difficult to discern just how reliable the information given really is, other than Arm-a-jab words, seems everything else is off the record.
