Country Music Awards Show
Darn. Missed it. I opted to go with Gordon Ramsay yelling at some guy with no customers who claimed he could “cook anything”.
George is one of only a handful of people currently recording worth listening to these days. Most of it’s just middle of the road crossover junk.
Garry Allen is about the only one of the current crop I care to listen to. Josh Turner has a tremendous voice but Long Black Train is his one and only good song. Other than that it’s Dwight, George, Vince, Allison, Lucinda and Suzy Boggess for me. Along with Willie, David Allen, Kris, Jerry Jeff and all those other old guys.
We were supposed to be there with my friedn who makes videos but our baby got sick.
My wife had a new dress and tan even.
Open secret: 95% of the folks who run country music from music row to CMT don’t even like the music....they are ashamed of the demographics and would all prefer to be in LA or NY doing rock or hip hop.
Their attempts to social engineer the music and it’s perception is pathetic. For example....they are aahamed so few blacks are in or listen to country. Just one example.
Oh, yes, I can only imagine, but I found these stats that make me wish TPTB would realize what they have in CW music.
Facts about the country audience:
Country music is America’s best liked music. According to a Harris survey, 60% of the adult population likes country music.
Country music delivers a large, exclusive audience. 25.4% of its listeners listen ONLY to country music.
Today’s expanding country music audience has created a market for 2,6000 full time country radio stations. Up 92% since 1978!
64% of the country music audience is in the powerful 25 - 54 age group, the peak buying years for American consumers.

I saw her on tonights show. Must be a hard song to sing for her.
I was hoping she would win...but I geuss Carrie Underwood is more popular right now. I just bought Miranda's CD.
Yep..after she won her AI title she must have started the hang out with a personal trainer of some kind.
Carrie’s been sweeping all the award shows. Besides Faith Hill’s reaction last year, I’m curious what the others think about her winning so many awards.
saw him in concert at least once, and got his autogragh afterwards when he felt bad for people standing outside the gate by the buses....
and is you have ever done country dancing, his songs are songs you can acutally dance too...he does good two step's and country waltzes and cha-cha's...
true country music, Tejana (sp?), blues, blue grass , polka.....true music lovers know when its real and when its just fancy-schmanzy pop music...

Thanks! I noticed she was with John Waite tonight. I wonder if a romance blossomed during their recording??
My thoughts about it:
I was hoping Little Big Town would win tonight. Talented group with great songs.
Reba’s a perfect host, they should have let her do it.
Pickler had the most touching moment of the night.
Overall, too much rock, not enough country.
She says she sings it every night, and it is a form of therapy for her. Kellie is a very bright girl, regardless of the impression she gave on American Idol.
I wondered who that handsome man was with her... I hope so.
I’ve been worried about her getting up in her 30s and not hitched yet.
I have been listening to Alison since the 1980s, since she started her career.
