58 Votes on Iraq War This Year: Why? Republicans Ask By Susan Jones CNSNews.com Senior Editor November 09, 2007

(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced on Thursday that she will bring another troops-out-of-Iraq bill to the House floor on Friday.

It will be the 58th "politically motivated" bill on the Iraq war by the House and Senate this year, Republicans complained.

"We are restating the differentiation between us and the president of the United States," Pelosi said at a press conference. "This gives voice to the desires of the American people," she said of the bill, which ties war funding ($50 billion for four months) to an immediate troop withdrawal.

"This is not a blank check for the president," Pelosi said.

House Republican Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) criticized Democrats for refusing to recognize the important of the U.S. military mission as well as the "tremendous progress we've made against all odds in capturing and killing agents of terror, and providing a level of security for political reconciliation to take place.

"This bill is deja-vu all over again," Blunt said. "The last time Democrats tried to tie funding for our troops to a date for surrender, they failed - and that was before the marked turn-around we've witnessed on the ground over the past several months."

On Wednesday, the New York Times reported that American forces have routed Al Qaeda in Iraq from every neighborhood of Baghdad, according to a top American general - "allowing American troops involved in the 'surge' to depart as planned."

"This gives voice to the desires of the American people," she said of the bill..."

Not on your shriveled little bippy, Nance. The desires of some of the American people -- maybe.

But there are some other issues on which the desires of the American people are far more clear-cut -- like border security, no driver's licenses for illegal aliens, lower taxes, etc.

The answer is apparent to anyone that wants to see it.

The moment Harry Reid proclaimed ‘The war is lost’ in relation to Iraq last spring, the Democratic Party became wholly invested in defeat in Iraq.

Now that it appears we’ve made amazing - if two years late - progress in eradicating al Qaeda, now that the tribal infighting has abated, the Democrats are in full blown Panic Mode.

Not only is this a clear indication of how bad Bush Derangement Syndrome has become with the Dems leadership, its also a classic example of why many of us don’t trust Democrats on national security issues.

The longer they concentrate on this political drivel, the less time they have to do any real damage to the country......and it exposes them for who and what they are...just give them enough rope

What I would love to read one day:

House Republican Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) criticized Democrats for refusing to recognize .....
that the U.S. CONgre$$ has NO CONSTITUTIONAL authority to dictate military movements. They can fund the war/military or choose not to fund the war/military, period.

C'mon Nanc, defund them...I dare you!

Because Democrats are in charge that is why!!! Is that difficult to understand. They get to do what they want. Republicans had you been doing your job than we would not be in this mess and you wouldn’t be looking stupid asking why!!!!

There’s always someone who will blame the rape victim instead of the rapist.

Its politics. The Democrat moonbat base is angry at the Democrats for failing to inflict a defeat upon Bush. They tried 57 times and they're trying again on the theory this time the result will be different. But the political circumstances under which they hold a Cut N Run vote today are vastly different from those of last winter when nothing seemed to be going right in Iraq. Today we're winning and the Democrats are determined to have America lose the war since they don't stand to profit for our victory there. That's a political party that has lost its soul and has lost its way.

Pelosi is going to win this one. Watch.

With the routing of AQ in Baghdad, the troops from the surge will start to come home. That will tie into the funds and Pelosi gets her win because the MSM will spin it that way.

By the way, that theory came from my 12 year old.
