I want my CSPAN2 (Vanity)
FR.com | 9 November 2007 | Radix

CSPAN2 has been removed from my cable (comcast) lineup.

I was wondering if this is happening exclusively here in my area.

I went to the Comcast home page and I was unable to find any mention of this change.

They nuked the tv guide channel and a couple others too here locally in the bay area, getting ready for more HD offerings.

you have to get a digital box and you can get those channels for a couple bucks more. i like snow on my now open channels,, screw ‘em.

Fear not. C-SPAN and C-SPAN 2 are both available for free online with any high-speed connection:

Don’t know where you are in MA but my Comcast system around Boston has moved C-SPAN2 from channel 45 (analog) to the digital tier (channel 247).Surprisingly,they added C-SPAN3 on digital channel 249.As mentioned above, they’re probably making room for new HD channels.

Sure, I have that (Thanks for the link) but I prefer to check the Senate Debating Club on the TV. My laptop tends to get rather hot after a while. Besides I can read as I listen to the CSPAN stuff.

A recent vote 50 to 43 had I heard had 4 sitting Senators not voting because they are running for President.

Still have CSPAN 2 here on Charleston Comcast.

Just bought a new TV and since I don’t have a box, I had to program all of the station names myself to a seven character limit. So when I click on these stations I get,

COMMIES - ( CNN )

Clymers - ( CSPAN1 )

Clymer2 - ( CSPAN2 )

PMSNBC - ( MSNBC )

Here in Sonoma County they are changing over in a few cities, mine being one of them.

It's not a couple of bucks more. It's $6.99 per month PER box, which at my house with 4 rooms with TV's, that's 24 bucks more plus tax.

Comcast took over the monolopy from AT&T a few years ago, and my bill went up from $25 or so to about 55 now.

They have dropped several channels as you said, and are going to drop more. Even dropped one local channel, I thought they had to provide them?

They are slowly doing away with Analogue in this area.

Comcast is corrupt, and now has a couple of guys working for them that fleeced another cable company of millions and are currently being sued.

Charter Communications provided cable television services and high speed Internet access to over 6 million subscribers in 40 states.
Bilked the stockholders of millions, and now are working on Comcast

Relax. With less coverage of the government in action on your TV screen, your blood pressure will go down dramatically and you will experience fewer migraines!

No your not alone. Comcast removed CSPAN2 from my basic (non-digital) cable last summer I believe. Comcast has since lowered their basic digital cable to the same price as the basic cable (non digital) was before ($50/month). I like watching CSPAN2 on the weekend for all the book interviews they have.

Comcast down here in Georgia shuffled CSPAN2 to Channel 186. If I didn’t have buy an updated HD ready TV, I never would have found it...found it through the use of TiVo.

Although not shown in digital, they put Hallmark, AMC, GAC, TCM and CourtTV all up there together.
