Please, while our troops are fighting overseas, do not forget that their families here at home face their own struggles. Not only do they worry about their spouses, fathers, mothers....they sometimes worry about making ends meet.
When our warriors families face hard times here at home, the VFW's Unmet Needs Program (http://www.unmetneeds.com) steps up and pays late water bills, medical bills, broken appliances...all the things that these people should not have to worry about.
Our donations can lessen the burden on these great Americans. The holidays are upon us, let's help the people who have sacrificed so much.
Most of these families are too proud to ask for help. Let's don't give them the chance. Let's pick them up before they fall.
I can promise you, after donating to the Unmet Needs Program (nothing goes to administrative costs, that's been covered by a corporate donation), you will enjoy your Veterans Day like none other you've had before.
You donation is tax deductible.

I will put a bug in the ear of the people running the donation box during Golden Corral’s free feed for veterans and active duty personnel.

Thanks, Star.

Thanks for posting; I’ll help spread the word. :)
When I came off of duty for ODS (1992) I was getting divorced, didn’t have a job, thought I was going to lose my home, etc. I’ll never forget that feeling of panic and hopelessness at that time in my life. I can completely imagine what it’s like for a family to be welcoming home a wounded soldier and not knowing what the future will hold for them all.
I’d be honored to help other military families!
Thanks. 100% of the donations go to the families. A corporate sponsor picks up the admin costs.
Yep. I read the site. Looks more than legit. :)
Does anyone know how this thread could be posted on the right hand column? It would be great if it got some presence all day. Operators will be taking donations until Midnight and the web site is always there for donations, all year long.
