Kick them out
Home secretary set to order Italian-style crackdown on immigrants

TENS of thousands of illegal immigrants are set to be BOOTED OUT of Britain as the Home Secretary does an Italian Job on them.

Jacqui Smith is looking at sensational plans to deport ANY illegal who police simply BELIEVE to be a threat to public safety.

She is keen to copy a crackdown in Italy where laws have been changed to bust rampaging criminal gangs of Romanians.

HAVE YOUR SAY HERE

Italian Premier Romano Prodi used emergency powers to order that any of them even suspected of a crime is shown the door. There is NO TRIAL or any right to the kind of appeals used by illegals to cling on in the UK.

Danger Mr Prodi was warned by the EU he was breaking directives on freedom of movement—but he stood his ground.

And last week the European Commission caved in and backed the Italian crackdown, as long as every deportation case was considered individually.

Now Mrs Smith has ordered a review of our laws after holding private talks with Mr Prodi at a summit of EU Home Affairs Ministers last month.

We strictly abide by European rules which forbid governments from deporting citizens from other EU countries unless they pose a serious danger to national security. In Britain, that means terrorists—and last year there were just 350 deportations.

But new powers have become an urgent priority after a wave of public anger over the growing number of immigrants. New National Statistics figures this week will show there are now 1,500 arriving every day.

A senior Home Office source told the News of the World: "The Home Secretary has asked the British charge d'affairs in Rome to send her a report on the Prodi reforms.

"There are clearly problems-Italy may be able to kick them out but there is nothing to stop the Romanians returning straight away. But our government needs to address the problem here.

"Mrs Smith now believes that interior ministers across Europe should work together on this issue."

Earlier this month a High Court judge caused uproar when he thwarted a Home Office bid to deport Italian Learco Chindamo, the killer of headteacher Philip Lawrence, claiming he wasn't a "present threat".

And sex attacker Mohammed Kendeh, 20, has been allowed to stay in the UK because deportation to Sierra Leone would "breach his human rights".

Both cases show how powerless Britain is to rid the country of dangerous illegals. Italy was in a similar state until Mr Prodi took action. More than 560,000 Romanians have flooded into Italy since the country joined the EU two years ago. They have carried out scores of murders, robberies and rapes.

Romanians make up one per cent of the population of Italy but last year were responsible for 5.6 per cent of murders.

The straw that broke the camel's back was the rape and murder of a 47-year-old Roman housewife, Giovanna Reggiani last month, allegedly by a Romanian living in a shanty town by the River Tiber.

Public outrage led to a promise by Prodi to introduce proper restrictions. Within two months legislation had been signed and the deportations have already started. And the new law makes it clear it is targetting Romanians.

Problems Meanwhile, a new report this week will confirm the immigration population is s now growing by more than 200,000 a year.

It will also reveal skilled workers are flooding out of Britain—with more people leaving than at any time since the 1840s.

And the report will show that the UK has twice as many immigrants per thousand of population than America.

In the New Year the Home Office will unveil a series of measures designed to to try to show it is finally getting serious about immigration. First, every foreign visitor to Britain will be fingerprinted on departure and arrival. Then all new foreign nationals living in Britain will have to carry a biometric ID card.

There will be extra measures to speed up deportation, including a possible version of the Prodi plan.

The government is also set to carry out a points-based policy in which immigrants will be assessed and only those who have enough points will get a visa. And full border checks will be restored at every port and airport by 2012.

“TENS of thousands of illegal immigrants are set to be BOOTED OUT..”

The ACLU will see to it that it will never happen in the US.

Good for them before they become a 3rd world country. Now if we can do the same and make sure they stay out.

Aha! My razor sharp legal mind detects a loophole. It doesn't say people have to consider each case individually.

So here's my computer considering each case individually:

I think it is possible that, if there were a horrific “trigger event” here, the ACLU would not get a chance to weigh in. I am happy to see our European brethren waking up and smelling the coffee. For decades they, and we, have been advised by our Overlords to lie back and enjoy it, and for the most part, we have. But I think that apathetic chapter is coming to an end, as what is going on in Italy and Switzerland demonstrates. When did any of us ever get a chance to vote on whether we wanted our communities and our countries to be invaded and overrun by foreigners, and foreigners who hate us, at that?

"The ACLU will see to it that it will never happen in the US. "

The ACLU will never have to intervene- George W. Bush will stop anything like that.

I'll believe it when it happens !

It will also reveal skilled workers are flooding out of Britain—with more people leaving than at any time since the 1840s.

Most interesting tho' not too surprising.

Bush should take a lesson from this. But, he won’t.

I was astonished and excited by the title—thought this was happening in America. How could I be so gullible?!

"Mrs Smith now believes that interior ministers across Europe should work together on this issue."

This would be as entertaining as a show involving a monkey and a football.

Well, that's a good start. Encouraging. Now for maybe a higher birthrate among actual British (among whom, by the way, aren't the Irish at least holding up their end? Among the general British, how do the component cultures of Welsh,English,Irish and Scots compare for birthrates?).

Beyond that, a good repatriation policy would probably be : compulsory repatriation/exile for criminals (including all illegal aliens). Strong Voluntary Repatriation Incentives for non-illegal cultural foreigners.

I hope Jacqui Smith does just that. Its time the UK told Brussels to go take a hike. Illegal aliens who commit crimes in Britain should be given the boot.

“Incentives for non-illegal cultural foreigners.”

I don’t think that will work. Where would they go? To some Muslim hellhole that they left? Besides, they’re not in the West to enjoy its freedoms, but to spread Islam. If they really enjoyed life in the West, they would not try to destroy it.

Something like the following has happened more than once. I wonder how horrific the event will have to be?

Ontario police announce murder warrant for fugitive(Illegal runs over kid and flees)

ONTARIO - There has been no rest for Linawati Tambunan, who witnessed her 7-year-old child's death more than three years ago. Police say Tambunan saw Candidio Renteria Peraza twice drive his Chevrolet Suburban over her son, Nathan Sitompul, on July 23, 2004.

Ortiz said Peraza is wanted on suspicion of murder because driving over the child a second time was an intentional act. Ortiz said police are working with U.S. marshals to find Peraza, who might have fled to Mexico.

Peraza previously served two years in prison for drug trafficking and was deported to Mexico in 1999. Ortiz said Peraza was in the country illegally at the time of Nathan's death.
