Democratic Party merely the Elective Office Subdivision of the greater Liberal Media Party

Andrew Breitbart addressed some VIP college Republicans. I guess it was a select group of big college leaders. His speech was actually off-the-record, so I can't report much about it, except to say that it was about his own political awakening, the liberal media, and the soft blacklist against conservatives in Hollywood. His major point is that the media is actually far, far more important a political player than the Democratic Party itself, and, one might say (my words, not his), the Democratic Party is actually merely the Elective Office Subdivision of the greater Liberal Media Party. Harry Reid and Tom Daschle may come and go, but the liberal media is eternal. And of course this was all a preamble to a call for conservatives to become players themselves in the media, including Hollywood itself, whose storytelling through tears and very charismatic actors has more emotional and visceral impact than any twenty slanted stories by David Schuster.

Nothing that any well-informed Freeper didn’t know.

Hopefully, someone who didn’t know will run across this article.

EXACTLY right. And this is why Fox and Talk Radio are so hated by the Left.

The left has owned the media in this country until the nineties; and they don’t much like losing their monopoly. If they take power in two years the only question is...how will they come after Talk radio and Fox?

Their inclinations are fascist. They MUST stop all media opposition to remain in control.

I have long and often said this. The DNC is simply the political wing of the MSM Party.

One thing I see as a problem for conservatives is that our instinctive aversion to media folks keeps us from trying to talk to them. Yes they are ideologues, and yes they see themselves as part of the DNC, but we need to be making an effort to get to know media people, especially the younger ones who aren’t as set in their ways, and show them over and over and over that there is another point of view on many of their stories.

Most in the media don’t even know that there is another approach, and when you point it out some of them will give it a moments consideration. You have to remember that those on the left call them ALL THE TIME telling them what the story is - they take them for lunch, ask about the kids, treat them as friends. I think we sometimes get very caught up in thinking of them as the enemy and forget that part of the Art of War IS knowing your enemy.

There are a lot of former liberals out there who, for whatever reason, ended up having to spend some time around conservatives and found out that we aren’t what the stereotype says we are. We don’t hate the poor, we don’t believe in starving old people, and we aren’t the ones who want to tell them how to live their lives.

We need to make an effort to get to know the media people - especially at the local level since that’s where the national people come from.

Kay,

There is nothing wrong with trying to convert the opposition to your way of thinking. It may work. It is apparently working in a way in Iraq.

But try to get your mind around the fact that for many on the Left, we are the enemy of their vision of utopia.

If it were not for the Right, all children would be well fed, well housed, would have access to superb free health care; our roads would be free of rush hour traffic, our world would be conflict free, energy would be free, plentiful and would not have any byproducts.

Furthermore there would be no rich or poor; everyone would have an abundance of everything, and everyone would work for the common good out of altruism for humanity. Faith in a higher being would end, replaced by faith in the infinite perfectibility of mankind.

These are their ideals. They are the ideals of virtually every Utopian who was ever born. It requires an basic change in the psyche of the Liberal; an acknowledgment that Man is a fallen creature. In short, it requires an understanding of man in a Calvinistic sense to change this position.

This is their ideology. Democrats in political office are simply their representatives with political power.
