MEXICALI, Mexico (AP) - The chief of Baja California's international police unit says his job is to convince American criminals they won't find refuge south of the border - despite what the movies say.
Since 2001, Alfredo Arenas Moreno's agents have captured more than 195 U.S. fugitives, most recently a Nebraska teacher accused of having sex with a student.
Arenas used a GPS tracker to find 25-year-old Kelsey Peterson in her car earlier this year in the parking lot of a shopping mall in the border city of Mexicali.
The teacher was turned over to U.S. authorities to face federal charges of transporting a child across state lines for sexual activity, ending a weeklong search. She agreed Wednesday to be extradited from California to Nebraska.
Arenas released the boy, an illegal immigrant, to relatives who live in Arizona.
Arenas said Peterson entered Tijuana from San Diego with a car full of clothing, bottled water, toiletries, family photos, Disney DVDs and her dog.

If you want on, or off this S. Texas/Mexico ping list, please FReepMail me.
Ok guys, GUILTY or NOT GUILTY!
Of course Mexican citizens committing crimes in the USA can find comfort in Mexico.
Can you imagine the vile statements that would be made about a US Marshall who was this guys counterpart in the U.S.? (ie, catching Mexican illegals in the U.S. who are wanted for various crimes).
The guy would would make Joe Arpaio look like a potential DNC Chairman candidate in 2008.
Gimme a six pack of Tecate, and chop off about 25 lbs from the perp, and I MAY render a not guilty verdict, depending on how hard my pain mads hit me....
