The European Parliament's miniscule far-right group is on the verge of collapse after the Romanian members threatened to walk out in response to derogatory comments by another member, Italian MEP Alessandra Mussolini.
When xenophobic far-right political parties in the European Parliament formed a group last year, many predicted it would fall victim to its inherent contradictions. Parties whose bread and butter is attacking foreigners were expected to find it a bit difficult to cooperate even if they were all cut from the same extremist cloth.
Now the Romanian contingent of the Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty group (ITS) is threatening to pull the plug. The Greater Romania Party on Thursday announced it was withdrawing its five members because of comments by Alessandra Mussolini, granddaughter of the Italian dictator, about Romanians.

Such happens if vox_italy and vox_romania are founding a club in the European parliament.
Apparently the perpetrators were Roma, that is gypsies, from Romania, which is ethnically Celtic, linguisticly Latin, and religiously Orthodox. Why do folks conflate Romania with the ethnic minority gypsies?
Because they’re too lazy to note that Romanians and the Romany (gypsy) people aren’t even distantly related.
It is because, you politically incorrect dolt, that we sensitive modern types are not allowed to use the word "Gypsy," to describe the chicken-stealing, pocket-picking, violin-playing, drive-way sealing, fortune-telling rascals and their light-fingered offspring.
These colorful and quaint ladies and gentlemen are now known collectively as the "Rom." From like, you know, old Romany. In the 30's, they were issued special Gypsy (sorry, "Rom") "Nansen" Passports by the old League of Nations. Most of them hung out in Yugoslavia and Romania, but over the past several decades have been wandering around causing trouble everywhere, but especially in Italy, where they have made a walk in the woods a rather iffy proposition. One of their many scams is taking over abandoned mountain villages.
The former Yugoslavs tried to domesticate the Gypsies a bit, After all, compared to the Albanians (who loathe Gypsies, sorry, "ROM") they are not all THAT bad, but it didn't work out. Supposedly, they originated in India, but Gypsies are at their best in Transylvanian werewolf movies starring Maria Ouspenskaya and Lon Chaney, Jr.
But anyway, you can see why pubic scrool people could confuse the Rom and Romania. Hell, it probably confuses Romanians. Trust me, there goes the neighborhood when Gypsies show up, no matter where you are.

I doubt that Mussolini's granddaughter went to public school.
why would you call the Romanians ethnically Celtic? They were Dacians before the Romans came along — and the Dacians were related to the Thracian branch of the Indo-European family, quite distinct from the Celtic, Germanic/Nordic, Slavic, Italic or Greek branches. They were mostly killed off by the Romans and the land repopulated with Roman soldiers — who may have been Italics or Celt-Iberians from Hispania (ok, SOME celtic blood :), or could have had Sarmatian (i.e. Irani) blood. But not Celtic in the sense of Western France or BRitannia.
Because that is the way I learned it. I see that it is considered an eastern Indo European or Satem, language, like Indo-Iranian, Armenian, and Slavic, as opposed to a western Indo European or Centum languge, like Germanic, Celtic, Italic, etc. Thank you, always learning something on FR.
