Groups of women are gathering at homes across America for Taser parties, where the guns are presented with wine and cheese, similar to earlier Tupperware parties. Lisa Rigberg, who hosted a recent Taser party in an upscale Arizona neighborhood, said the guns are a must-have for women.
"It's light, it's small and it comes in colors," Rigberg said. "But if you know you are going to be in a certain situation where you might be uncomfortable, why not have it with you? It just makes you more confident."
The new Taser guns fit into a woman's purse and are light, according to the Local 6 report.
Taser International, Inc., is selling the devices.

I seriously thought that the point of these parties was for women to get together and tase each other for jollies.
I just expect weirdness these days.

I am not a fan of
Mad About You but my wife is, and so I was forced to watch many an episode.
I laughed once at the show during that whole time.
It was a scene in which Paul Reiser is at the airport, his wife has accidentally taken her sister's handbag - an identical handbag to hers - and has it with her at the airport.
Reiser says that he can't find his electric shaver and his wife says: "I might have put it in my bag."
He pulls out the sister's Taser and knocks himself unconscious.

I did too, and who knows? Maybe there’s something we aren’t being told.

How much do they cost? Do you need a permit to carry one?

If you’re in NJ, NY, CA, or MA you probably need an act of congress and a note from the President himself.

It just hit me why tasers are not very good for crime prevention, there is no threat of death.
Many of us men have played with tasers, been tasered, and tasered other guys. If a criminal is feeling the hot blood rush to commit a crime, then the taser is something of a freebie.
With a victim depending on a taser, you get to attempt the crime, if you succeed fine, if not, then no big deal.
I’m over two hundred pounds if I can taser a man before I start working on him then fine, but that isn’t how most people intend to use them.
