Action Alert: Chapel Hill NC Recruiting Station Vandalism Threat 11/15
Gathering of Eagles ^ | Orange Co. NC GoE Coordinator

Posted on 11/13/2007 8:40:17 AM PST by gtoast99

UNC Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) is sponsering a protest march from "the pit" on campus to the local Chapel Hill Recruiting Center, downtown. They promise it will end in "creative action" at the recruiting center. SDS page

Previous "creative action" has resulted in three paint vandalism attacks on military facilities in Chapel Hill in the last year, once at the ROTC office and twice on this very recruiting station. ROTC attack pics recruiting station attack

Furthermore, the rally is organized by Kosta Harlan, notable for his article "The Iraqi Resistance is Just, and Should be Supported" in which he brags of increased attacks on US soldiers as a sign of the strength of the resistance. He has traveled to Iran and personally met with members of the Iraqi insurgency. The article can be found here

Gathering of Eagles is looking to protect the center from further vandalism, and to stick up for our troops in harms way. Last time SDS marched, I stood alone with Old Glory to block their path downtown. Who will join me this time? I need your help!

Tony Stevenson, Orange County NC Coordinator

The details: They plan to assemble at the Pit at 3, and march at 3:30, arriving at the Recruiting Station approximately an hour later for their "creative action". I'd like to see people start to assemble at 3 if possible, at the recruiting station site. From there we can decide if we have the turnout to confront them on the march route, or consolidate to protect the station.

The station is located here at 1502 E. Franklin Street, on the S. Estes drive side of the street. There is some parking located there as well, if the lots around it fill up we can redirect traffic as it comes in.

The article doesn’t mention the date: this Thursday, the 15th.

No, they don’t have any at State. You gotta go to the girlfriend farm down the street. It’s called Meredith College. At this all female facility, they can smell testosterone from 100 yards.

Ahhhhh Meredith College! Some things never change!!!!
Perfume so thick it was applied w/ a butter knife!

Add-a-bead necklaces and plaid skirts! Does State still offer
a “shadow degree” in FAH—Find A Husband? I believe the
Departmental Office was rumored to be somewhere in the
bowels of Winston Hall! Or maybe it was DH Hill library,
across the brickyard from Dabney sux Cox! Spent entirely
too much off my life in Dabney.

Yes, they still have that program, to my knowledge. And yes, in DH Hill. It's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwfully easy to get lost in those stacks, especially at night.

Thankfully I ended my participation in this particular cross-study program before I graduated. Not a moment too soon. I swear one of the courses in that program is "gawk at engagement rings".
One time I *did* go out with a UNC girl. Turned out she was a real Pagan.
Was Dabney that God-awful round building?

The DH Hill stacks! I loved to go there and “get lost” looking for girls!
Esp during final exam week.

The round bldg was Harrelson Hall. Dabney was the tall 8-story
hi rise immediately across the brickyard from DH Hill. Sat next to
the 6-story lo-rise Cox. Dabney was home to chemistry and Cox was
home to physics and statistics. And Mitch’s Tavern was home to fun!

“I didn’t realize these anti-American lunatics were still around.”

With all due respect...where have you been? The anti-war groups have been in the streets across the country for years. They are the ones that are pulling the strings of the Democrat Party. They have defaced our sacred memorials like the Vietnam Memorial, the Capitol, aided the enemy, etc. They are run by Communists like George Soros and MoveOn.org, The World Can’t Wait, Code Pink, and lest we forget one of the most insidious groups, International ANSWER. The latter has staged EVERY anti-war protest around the world. The anti-war agenda has pervaded every part of our societ from preschool to entertainment to fashion to food. Yes, these lunatics are around, and in great numbers. But patriots need to stand up and make our presence known!

That's not really a very respectful question, is it? But maybe I brought it on by not being more specific. I was referring to the SDS, which is the subject of the thread. I remember when it was first created in 1968, but haven't heard much about it lately.

I don't keep track of every lunatic group--I'm busy working full-time with our soldiers and Marines at Peterson AFB, CO, and holding rallies to support our troops and victory in Iraq outside the main gate at Ft. Carson, and sending care packages to our troops, and educating my younger relatives in the value of conservatism and the danger of the anti-America libs.

Sorry for such a late reply.

I did mean my comments/question in respect. Unless someone is disrespectful, I don’t engage in nastiness like some. I was just reacting out of incredulity.

You don’t have to keep track of every lunatic group, but since you are someone like myself that cares deeply about our country, we have the responsibility to be well-informed. I’m busy too with a full-time job, two weekly rallies for the troops, Operation Gratitude, various political rallies/meetings, and when called upon Patriot Guard. I try to educate relatives, co-workers, strangers, and pretty much anyone who will listen about conservativeism and the danger of Left/Democrats.

Keep up the great work! Happy Thanksgiving!

Here's another fellow who attended college there at Chapell Hill... wonder if he also hung out with this SDS crowd:
