A man accused of helping hide out the alleged ringleader of a fatal carjacking is asking a federal judge to move his trial out of Knox County.
Attorney Phil Lomonaco filed late Tuesday a motion on behalf of Eric Dewayne "E" Boyd asking that his upcoming trial on federal accessory to carjacking charges be held in another county.
Boyd is accused of helping hide out Lemaricus Davidson in the days following the carjacking, kidnapping, rape, torture and deaths of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom in January.
Davidson is charged with three other suspects in Knox County Criminal Court with the slayings and related crimes.
Boyd is not charged in that state court indictment.
Instead he faces trial in February in federal court for allegedly providing Davidson with a place to stay, food and a phone in the days before Davidson's capture in a vacant house in Northwest Knoxville.
Lomonaco is asking U.S. District Judge Tom Varlan to move Boyd's trial outside Knoxville - a community he argues has been poisoned by misinformation, racist rallies and inflammatory press coverage.
"This case before this court is one of the most heavily publicized and misrepresented cases in recent local East Tennessee history," Lomonaco wrote.
He blames both inaccurate reporting by local and national television stations, the Internet and particularly blogs. He also points out that the case spurred at least two rallies by white supremacist groups. The victims in the crime are white; the suspects are black.
Lomonaco contends Boyd deserves a trial in a locale "which has not been polarized by fictional pretrial publicity or torn apart by the circumstances of this case."

I would have assumed that the prosecution wanted the venue moved on the grounds that the defendant is just too damned handsome to get a fair trial.

This horrendous atrocity is characterized in a news headline as a “carjacking?” Absolutely stunning!!!
Yeah, I thought the same thing. A headline reference to “carjacking” or even “fatal carjacking” is a real understatement of what happened in this case.
It doesn’t make the story much better but apparently some of the reports on the web about these victims being mutilated or held captive for days were incorrect. It still is a vile crime though and another one that conveniently is essentially ignored by the national media.
Given the racist, incomprehensibly hateful brutality of this crime, I’m sure he could get a sympathetic jury in Memphis.

Hell, the black racists here in Little Rock would probably acquit them since they were white and only whites are racists!
Ten years ago or so, four black "youts" kidnapped a mother of three who was a bank teller. They ambushed her in the bank parking lot at 4PM and threw her into her own Jeep Cherokee. They took her to a crack house and gang raped and sodomized her for 6 hours. They took her to an ATM machine and forced her to withdraw cash. They then went to buy crack and tied her up until dawn where they resumed the assault.
That night, 24 hours later in this woman's hell, they drove from SW Little Rock to McAlmont (North Little Rock) and SOLD their "white bitch" for four (4) crack rocks and $50.00 for her Jeep Cherokee.
The new group of black rapists did the same thing for that night and in the early morning slit her throat and threw her almost lifeless body into her Jeep and disposed of both in a swamp off of Highway 161 north of Protho Junction.
The trouble is that they didn't cut deep enough and she survived by playing dead. She was raped by ten (10) black males ages 15-25. I think 3 of the 10 got life sentences, even though 8 of the 10 repeatedly raped and sodomized her. The youngest is already out of prison after a 20 year sentence (out in 7.5 years with credit/good behavior). He has been arrested since his release for guess what....robbery and sexual assault.
Any woman in Little Rock that doesn't carry a gun is truely rolling the dice in this town. We are full of recidivist felons whom continue to prey upon our citizens daily and the liberals want us to "understand" and "help".

This happened in Bill Clinton’s Little Rock? How can that be. I thought he and Hillary were the best thing to happen to Arkansas. Though if this happened in 1997 then I guess the name of the governor at that time was Huckabee.
Stories like this and Knoxville of course make us all ill. Ultimately I suppose we can only blame our fellow citizens for electing mayors, city councils, governors, and state legislators who do nothing to curb crime, or increase sentences. Americans tolerate soft on crime judges who impose light sentences, and parole boards who let these animals back out to prey on us all.
The rule about having "Wayne" (or a variation thereof) as a middle name stills seems to be holding true.

There was one about 20 years ago or more in Memphis known as the Shannon Avenue incident. A cult of nine or so blacks that were very similar to the Philadelphia MOVE group (dope-smoking was part of their m.o.) took a cop hostage, one of two cops serving a warrant at a Shannon Avenue address in Memphis. The other cop got away and over the next 24 hours or so this group tortured the cop. The whole neighborhood could hear the screams for several hours. Finally the screaming stopped. Some hours later the SWAT team went in with smoke and concussion grenades — killing all inside, one room at a time. Initially the NAACP put up a stink but when some of the details emerged they realized the public outcry would be too much for even the NAACP.
There was another one a few years later — a white woman from West Memphis AR was kidnapped, put in her trunk. The four black perps raped her repeatedly at a park near the Memphis National Ornamental Metal Museum, down by the river. Then they drove around some, and transferred the car to some more thugs. Then she was run over her repeatedly with her own car in an attempt to kill her. I can’t remember if she survived.
Ditto the recidivist villians in Memphis, the number one highest metro area for crime in the USA.

Patrolman Robert Hester was killed when he was beaten and tortured after being taken hostage by a religious cult.
Several hours prior, an off-duty police officer observed a purse snatching. Although he was unable to apprehend the suspect, he recognized the suspect and he went with two other officers to the suspect’s home to question him.
When they arrived, they found no one home, but were able to reach the suspect by phone. They were unable to understand the suspect on the phone and a report was filed.
Meanwhile, the suspect was at a house at 2239 Shannon Street with 13 other males. They were all members of a religious cult. The 13 men and the suspect had been drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana all day. The leader of the cult instructed the purse-snatching suspect to call the police and summon them to the house. When he called the police, he told them that he wanted to talk to officers about an earlier purse-snatching incident.
At 2239 hours, Patrolman Hester and his partner were dispatched to the house. When Patrolman Hester and his partner arrived, they entered the house and quickly became aware that they were largely out numbered by a group of crazed men.
Patrolman Hester called for additional units to respond, and both officers attempted to diplomatically back out of the house. As they tried to exit, the group attacked them. One of the suspects was able to gain control of Patrolman Hester’s partner’s gun. The suspect then shot Patrolman Hester’s partner in the face. Patrolman Hester’s partner was able to escape, but Patrolman Hester was captured by the group and beaten with his flashlight and gun.
The first backup officer to arrive, attempted to enter the house to save Patrolman Hester, but he was hit so hard upon entering the house that he was thrown from the porch.
The second officer to enter went in shooting. He emptied his revolver and exited. After reloading, he again entered and again emptied his revolver in an attempt to save Patrolman Hester. When all of his ammunition was exhausted, he retrieved his shotgun and again entered the house firing, but was unable to reach Patrolman Hester. It is unknown how many cult members were wounded or killed in that rescue attempt.
Seven of the suspects escaped the house as other officers arrived, but were all captured.
A stand-off that lasted 30 hours began. Negotiation teams, attempting to talk the cult members into releasing Patrolman Hester, were unsuccessful. During the 30 hour stand off, Patrolman Hester could be heard calling for help and the cult members could be heard berating him. At about 0300 hours on January 13, the house went quiet.
Tear gas cartridges were fired into the house followed by several flash grenades. Tactical Officers entered the house and gunfire erupted. They were able to reach Patrolman Hester and remove him from the house. As Tactical Officers searched the house, they encountered gunfire and in returning fire, shot and killed seven suspects.
It was later determined that Patrolman Hester had been killed 12 hours prior to the Tactical Team entering the house. He had been beaten severely with his own flashlight and handgun.

I remember that story. How horrible. I remember at the time thinking why didn’t police storm the house a lot sooner to save their comrade??
As far as Knoxville goes it seems that local authorities and the media of course are trying to make it sound like just another murder. When these savages come to trial though, what will prosecutors say? They did this because they had bad childhoods, or needed money? What motivates scum like this to savagely rape 2 people for hours, then kill them? If it was just a “carjacking” then they could have taken the car and killed the victims on the spot.
I find it hard to believe they just decided on the spur of the moment to take these 2 kids and assault them for hours and hours. How could there not be some kind of “hate” involved? Yet I’m sure this will not come up at the trial.
