First, this is the current drought map (November 6, 2007) -- it will be updated Thursday November 15, 2007:
Next is link to the Huntsville, AL radar.
Atlanta, Georgia has a severe weather outlook tonight, and there is severe weather also in Alabama and Tennessee...
Hopefully, a few inches of rain will fall on the watersheds for the drought affected areas...
Didn’t the Governor of Georgia just have a prayer service for rain that the ACLU was up in arms about?
Yep right along with the “Freedom From Religion Feaks”
Is this because the Gov. of Georgia led public prayer?
Anyone who believes in separation of church and state should refuse the extra water!
Anything for Columbia SC?
That would be great.
I’ll believe it when I see it. LOL!
Anybody remember the Dem. gov of Louisiana, Blanco, after Hurricane Katrina had a day of prayer for survival. No outcry from the ACLU types at that time. I think they get involved only if a Republican does something to bring religion into their public duties that the ACLU types get upset.
God does have a sense of humor!
Hope some of this makes it up my way into Western NC. We didn’t get the tropical storms this year all the GW propagandists promised us.
Between Knoxville and Chattanooga, they have received 2+ inches of rain. Hopefully there will be runoff into lakes and rivers for the watersheds of the drought affected areas.
I’m in the Smoky Mountains of Western NC and it’s raining now, a good soaking rain, and it has been raining off and on for the past two days.
Prayer and repentance works!
Chaplain: You wanted to see me, General?
Patton: Oh, yes, Chaplain. I’m sick and tired of Third Army having to fight the Germans, the Supreme Command, no gasoline, and now this ungodly weather. I want a prayer... a weather prayer.
Chaplain: A weather prayer, sir?
Patton: Yes, let’s see if you can’t get God working with us on this thing.
Chaplain: It’ll take a pretty thick rug for that kind of praying.
Patton: I don’t care if it takes a flying carpet.
Chaplain: I don’t know how this is going to be received, General. Praying for good weather so we can kill our fellow man?
Patton: I assure you, sir, because of my intimate relations with the Almighty, if you write a good prayer, we’ll have good weather. I expect that prayer within an hour.
Patton’s Weather Prayer:
Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee of Thy great goodness to restrain this immoderate weather with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee, that armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory and crush the wickedness and oppression of our enemies and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen.
The weather’s perfect. Cod, get me that chaplain. He stands in good with the Lord, and I want to decorate him.
—General Patton, the day after the Weather Prayer worked
Thanks for the picture!
I have my weather.com radar up and have been watching that front head toward Georgia. It really looks like it’s going to rain. Great news! Wonder who the Free Thinkers will blame.
Norm's Revenge posted a good picture of the front showing the severe thunderstorms...
I did not see anything about this via AP/Drudge, but I really think this is news worthy...
Woohoo!
He had the prayer service on Tuesday, and the forecast was already for some rain on Thursday...
