Did Bill Clinton Slur Obama?
Bob Parks: Outside The Wire ^ | 11/16/07 | Bob Parks

In the age of heightened sensitivities, I only pose this because if the following quote were coming from a Republican, you know all hell would break loose....

It's a great time to be a Democrat, and I like it. I like it because even though those boys have been getting kind of tough on her lately, she can handle it. – Bill Clinton, Charleston, South Carolina
Now we all know that among the "boys" alluded to is Barack Obama. We all know that the use of the term "boy" in reference to a Black man is a faux pas. That's somewhere Don Imus, Michael Richards, and Dog Chapman now know not to go.

It’s a huge stretch - but it would have been the immediate conclusion the entire media would have come to if George W. Bush had uttered it.

But, since he is not black no inference can be made.

I don’t see much of a slur here; every you look at Obama, and Edwards as well, you can picture them as spoiled snotty brats in short pants and beanies running around carrying all-day suckers and constantly whining about something or other.

nah...Clearly he’s playing on identity politics with the female electorate though.

You got that right. The perfect example is when President Bush and Senator Biden said basically the same thing about Obama. Yet, it was the President whom the media slammed.

It's a pretty big stretch, but if a Repub said it...there might have been something said about it.

I don’t see much of a slur here...

Rational people wouldn't see it as a slur. However, if this sentence had come out of the mouth of a Republican, much like "Plugs" Biden's "clean" remark about Osama Obama, it would be front page news (above the fold)......for weeks.....

Yes, it is a stretch, but you are all coming to the same conclusion that a Republican would be near run out of town for the weekend if he said the same thing.

That’s the point.

"boys"

Feminazis have been referring to *men* as *boys* in MA for the past 5 years.

Seems demeaning to me... but then I'm a conservative.

There's even a TV commercial for chicken pot pie where the husband is referred to as "a little boy."

even though those boys have been getting kind of tough on her lately,

Clinton was slurring all the male Dem candidates, by calling them boys.

What leader wants to be called a "boy"?

How cool would it be if Obama called Bill, Hillary’s Bee Atch?

There was no slur here. Clinton (William Jefferson) was the first black president, remember? So it’s OK for him to call another black man “boy.”

"Did Bill Clinton Slur Obama?"

Do the NY and DC political/media/money gangs take on Chicago? Does a bear take a dump in the forest?

With Billzo having been America's first black President, and Obamasama not being black enough, there's really no reason white folk should get involved in this one.

Right?

Yes, there is definitely a “double standard” when it comes to anything Clinton. Maybe even a “triple standard” or “Quadruple” one. No matter what he/she says, it’s glossed over, ignored, spun, and blow dried away. Had this been uttered by a Republican or even a conservative Dem, the howls of rage and calls for resignation would be neverending until the target capitulates or is so damaged as to be rendered impotent. Any word or slip-of-the-tongue is now cause celeb for summary execution at the hands of the MSM, NYT, DNC, KOS and DUmmies.............
