Xzins. What is your definition of bashing?

Mine is, calling names.

Examining a resume for a job application and following up on the employment record is not bashing.

What do you consider bashing?

For example, a recent thread that claimed that Thompson is pro-abortion.

It’s simply a lie, and it hurts the overall cause of conservatives.

Bashing is lying or exaggerating or misrepresenting about one of the conservatives in such a way that it puts them in an ill light.

I’m willing to lay odds that if GWBush had been a US Senator at one time, then he wouldn’t have had an 86% ACU rating, which is what Thompson had. And, to be honest with you, I still like Pres. Bush. I think he’s done a fine job. He was right on the most important issue, life, and he stuck to it. He has been right on the defense of the nation and he’s stuck with it. Those are critical. He fouled up homeland security with the failure to fix the illegal alien problem. He made a mistake with CFR. He was very right on judges, but with a little help from his friends. But....he was right on the right things. Huckabee is Bush. Any one of those guys: Hunter, Tancredo, Thompson, Huckabee will do.

If we start going after our own family, then we’re among the most ignorant of people.

If someone sees something that says one thing to them, that is not lying. Seeing something that isn’t there at all and manufacturing it is lying.

I’m still 100% in Bush’s corner. I see a few things I can’t explain in a simple post to convey it to others because this entire WOT is too complicated.

That doesn’t mean when people say, “Bush is a Globalist” they are lying. That is how they see it and I know why they see it.

That transfers over to Thompson too. You see him as pro life and I understand what you are looking at to see that.

But, because I’m unable to explain to you in a simple fashion that he is not doesn’t make me a liar.

Therefore, that is not bashing. The posts keep getting posted, not to bash; but to try to reexplain because the trails of legislature and amendments are way to complicated to show in a simple message board post.

I will put up a 100% pro-life voting record as evidence. And look at the votes themselves. They are on questions that clearly indicate a belief in life.

I’ve got his votes. I’ve got the issues those votes cover. All others have is their personal interpretation.

We can get so picky that we’ve picked ourself up and left fairness behind.

Interpretation of a clear record that states the reverse of the clear record is called misrepresenting.

Not if the person presenting another perception is not seeing it the same as you.

Calling someone a poopyhead is bashing.

A different perception is not misrepresentation, lying or bashing.

poopyhead??? :>)

Calpernia, let’s say that you oppose gay marriage. Let’s say that every time you’ve had a chance to vote on it that you’ve opposed gay marriage or supported natural marriage.

Now let’s say that someone says “Calper has a friend who is gay.” Someone else finds out that Calper goes to a church that had a gay in it. Someone else finds out that you’ve read a book of Andrew Sullivan.

Someone now comes along and says, “I think we should reinterpret all these anti-gay marriage votes that Calpernia cast.” I have reason to think they were made secretly to support the cause of gay marriage. Finally, this person announces: “I think Calpernia is actually a supporter of the thing she actually voted against.”

Now, has that person been fair with your record or have they allowed their “interpreting skills” to lead them down a rat hole?

I know you are looking at the votes that went on paper. And I can’t speak for everyone elses he said she said posts.

But it gets complicated all the way around because the votes on paper don’t match all the legislature which is further muddled by all the amendments that went with the legislature.

See this big post?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1924826/posts?page=138#138

That big post, the Title X funding replenished all the budgets for the Department of Energy. It also did it in incremental payouts that had budgets extend for a few years.

The department of Energy is a huge infrastructure that has many, many grant projects in it that covers THIS monster:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1563271/posts
Healthy People 2010

This has many many more initiatives in it that covers everything from gay marriage to climate to NAIS to abortion.

So, saying a vote on paper is one thing. But funding what you are or are not for is another.

This is why everyone is bantering back and forth as to what is true.

It isn’t as simple as a recorded vote.

And it is also not bashing.

“We should NOT EVER bash any of our conservatives. The truth is that at this moment in time, based on state-by-state polls, Thompson is the conservative with the best chance of breaking out.”

If Thompson increased his stances on immigration (preferably punishing employers who break the law, not lipservice to a fence, we all know the fence thing will never pan out unless Hunter is in charge), and wasn’t such a free-trader, i’d like him more.

Free trade is squeezing the middle and upper classes out, immigration is squeezing the lower classes out. This is treachery against any American who is employed.

All this will do is create a backlash and Democrats will get more votes, maybe we’ll get the Unions back, representing 50% of the workforce. DO YOU WANT THAT?!

“Hunter is the 100% pure conservative. (From what I’ve read about Tancredo, so is Tancredo.)

If we take away 10% for a whacked out decision, then we’ll call Thompson a 90% conservative.

That makes Huckabee about a 70% conservative, McCain a 50%, Romney a 20-70% due to his wishy-washiness.

Giuliani is 0% conservative.”

Libertarianites consider blind free-trade and open borders as conservative. The Libertarians are wrong, the true Neo Conservatives (New Conservatives) are the Libertarians. They use to be Democrat, and are trying to hijack the Republican Party, they are a very small vocal minority with enormous financial ability to effect campaigns.

“If Hunter doesn’t make it, then I’m hoping he’ll pull the plug as soon as that becomes clear and put his support behind the conservative who, based on Duncan’s years of political experience, has the best chance to win a conservative victory.”

He will, because he is a practical and honorable man.

But don’t ‘you people’ understand, that Hunter is the only candidate who will stop the trillions and trillions of dollars worth of jobs leaving the country. That is just like a tax. These free-trade deals have the exact same effect that a tax does, in fact, it is WORSE then a tax. At least welfare gives money to bums, but at LEAST THE BUMS ARE AMERICAN! Some of this free-free-trade permanently leaves the country to artificially build up foreign economies.

And rest assured some of these trade deals are ARTIFICIAL AND TEMPORARY! If we stopped trade with China tommorrow, that communist country would fall apart like a wet paper bag. BECAUSE THEY ARE COMMUNISTS! Communists and corrupt economies always fall apart.

There you go again.

You're slipping, you haven't called Duncan Hunter supporters "stupid" in this thread as you've done in the past.

Incidentally, didn’t Laura do a great job on the Factor last night? She really knows how to handle the “I don’t want to answer the question” crowd! I would like to see “The Ingraham Factor” listed in my TV guide! :)

I would watch more FNC if she took over the spot, she is smarter and thinks on her feet much better than O’Really.
