Yes he was! It’s still difficult for Mark to talk about Sprite, but he’s trying so hard.
I had to put a cat down 3 Fridays ago and listening to Mark today brought flashbacks.
I too had to be the one to decide death for Tiger. I said a prayer when they were evaluating his condition. After the 'verdict' by the Veterninarian, I asked for forgiveness for giving the order to have him put down. I'm glad that the rest of my family was spared the event.

You did the best thing for Tiger.
My sister had a cat that is still her all-time favorite. He was a Maine-Coon cat and she got him when she was first married. He was so pretty and a sweetie! Unfortuntely he got some sort of intestinal cancer and she kept him going for far too long, just because she didn’t want to be without him. The poor thing would cry and we could all see he was in great pain. She didn’t do him any favors, IMO she actually prolonged his agony by being selfish.
I’m sure Tiger knows this... and you will see each other again.
