This is typical WSJ blather. They are attempting to discount the illegal immigration issue. Hillary is not so stupid that she cannot read poll data. In one of the most liberal states in the union she and her boy Elliot were forced very publicly to stand down. I think NY poll data was way over 60 per cent against licenses to illegals and again that it in one of the most liberal states in the union. Shame on the WSJ for continuing to be the shameless globablist rag it is.

Republicans with a spine can win on this issue in ‘08.

They aren’t immigrants, they are illegal migrant workers. Invaders for short.

"Democrats also risk setting off a "rivalry between the minorities" if they tilt toward Hispanics with their immigration policy, says the University of Virginia's Mr. Ceaser. The rise of Hispanic political power has come largely at the expense of African Americans, and Hispanic immigrants have largely replaced blacks in some industries, including construction."

There's the rub.

Blacks remain loyal to Democrats by 90% even when Democrats have jilted them in favor of Hispanics who have kicked them out of formerly well-paid jobs in construction, service, and trades.

And they will continue to support Democrats and blame Republicans for their deeper and deeper slide into poverty. Go figger.

Democratic strategists believe that Hispanic voters could swing a decisive handful of states -- including Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Nevada -- to the Democrats in 2008,...

I don't get it. They must be talking about illegal Hispanics voting.

It seems the legals, the ones that have followed all the rules..have no use for the illegals.

It never seems to register with the Wall Street Jounal and other political elites that a lot of Hispanics (who consider themsleves Americans first) went to the trouble to come here legally and earned their citizenship. They do not appreciate being lumped into the same class as the invaders from the south who bid down all American wages and want to bring the third world hell-hole from whence they came further north. I speak from personal experience.

Democrats also risk setting off a "rivalry between the minorities" if they tilt toward Hispanics with their immigration policy, says the University of Virginia's Mr. Ceaser. The rise of Hispanic political power has come largely at the expense of African Americans, and Hispanic immigrants have largely replaced blacks in some industries, including construction.

Miami Urban League president T. Willard Fair, among the few black leaders who speak openly about the effects of illegal immigration on African-Americans, says "there is an undercurrent" of resentment in his community. Blacks aren't likely to leave the Democratic party over it, he says, and they're reluctant to publicly oppose immigration because of their own civil rights history. But "all you have to do is take a walk to the neighborhood bar to hear the talk," he says.

The demorats are throwing the black voter under the bus for the illegals votes. But the pubs just don't have the cojones to tell anyone.

Despite the best efforts of the elites and media, the momentum against illegal immigration continues to grow. Elliot Spitzer was steamrolled on his driver’s license for illegals program. The more people learn about the issue the greater their indignation and anger.

Hopefully, the incompetent republicans will shed Bush’s policies and move ahead defending both our borders and constitution.

If immigration is the question, here’s my standard answer: We can do something about Illegal immigration.

RICO —Citizen Recourse
Private persons and entities may initiate civil suits to obtain injunctions and treble damages against enterprises that conspire to or actually violate federal alien smuggling, harboring, or document fraud statutes, under the Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO). The pattern of racketeering activity is defined as commission of two or more of the listed crimes. A RICO enterprise can be any individual legal entity, or a group of individuals who are not a legal entity but are associated in fact, and can include nonprofit associations.

Here’s what I’ve been pushing: it’s time to file Racketeering, Influencing, and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) lawsuits. RICO lawyers could turn it around in a few years and MAKE MONEY at the same time. I’m surprised they haven’t done it already.

In the absence of enforcement, we can get the word out in the meantime that there is money to be made in filing RICO lawsuits against employers who hire illegal aliens.

Employers would have no trouble shutting down the border if they could get sued by someone under the RICO statutes for hiring these people in the first place. The next time an illegal alien kills someone in a drunk driving accident or somesuch thing, I’m going to point out that the victim’s family might be able to seek compensation from the employer under these statutes in the hopes that it would catch on. If this did catch on, would see such a swift backlash against illegal immigration that no employer would go near these people and they’ll all simply want to go back home.

IRS Reporting

REWARD FOR REPORTING EMPLOYERS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS

CALL THE IRS HOTLINE 1-800-829-0433 YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO A REWARD

Call the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) hotline 1-800-829-0433 to report all
suspected employers of illegal aliens-—you are not required to identify
yourself and may be entitled to a reward. The Application for Reward ( Form 211 http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f211.pdf)
can be downloaded from http://www.irs. gov or call 1-800-829-3676. The IRS does
not take kindly to employers that seek to evade taxes by paying cash for day
labor-this is a common practice at construction sites. Report the employer`s
license plate number and any other information you may have. Employers usually
can’t run and take the hit in their wallets. Follow up with the IRS and ask
what action is being taken; if they refuse to cooperate, notify the press and
your elected officials. Do your part-—spread the word-—help make this
nationwide campaign a success!!!

Hunter’s criticism of Thompson over this issue is well aimed. We need someone in the white house who isn’t a johnny-come-lately on this issue.
