Fukuda says N Korea will 'disappear' if it doesn't abandon nukes
Monday, November 19, 2007 at 11:08 EST
WASHINGTON Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda warned North Korea in a CNN interview aired Sunday that it will eventually "disappear" unless it abandons its nuclear program. In the interview recorded during his trip to Washington, Fukuda said: "If it hopes to stand on its own as an independent nation, it should abandon its nuclear program."
Fukuda urged North Korea to further compromise on the nuclear issue. "As long as it poses a threat to its neighbors, it cannot truly stand on its own," Fukuda said. "It will dwindle as it stands now and eventually disappear." North Korea's abduction of Japanese citizens in the 1970s and 1980s "should also be resolved" in order for Pyongyang to get Japanese economic assistance, Fukuda said.

He said exactly what the English purports.
He is reported, in Japanese, to have said this:
<<近隣に脅威を与えるようなものを持つ限りは自立していくのは難しい。今のままではいずれは消滅してしまうのではないか>>
So I have provided the exact quote.....

It is just a threat, or more of an observation. That their days are limited if they plan to continue on as they have. He did not get specific as to whether Japan would attack them. More or less a passive tense, thinly veiled threat.
Watch KCNA out of Pyongyang tonight or tomorrow. They are going to get pissed off. But somebody needs to say this to them. Lord knows it won't come from State Department or the White House these days.

Remember when the Chinese started sending their subs into Japanese waters?

That’s pretty cool. I wonder how South Korea (I mean just Korea) would feel about being an island.

Well that should be fairly clear to even the insane Chia Head of NK.
