T. Boone Pickens Responds to Letter From U.S. Senator John Kerry

DALLAS, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is a copy of a letter mailed by T. Boone Pickens in response to a letter from U.S. Senator John Kerry regarding the Senator's military record and ads in the 2004 presidential election by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

Dear Senator Kerry:

So glad to hear from you regarding the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth political ad campaign, and an offer I made public at an American Spectator dinner in Washington, D.C. last week. I am intrigued by your letter, and am certainly open to your challenge.

My concern at the Spectator Dinner was, and continues to be, that you and other political figures were and are maligning the Swift Boat Veterans, and I want to prevent this important part of American history from being unfairly portrayed.

In order to disprove the accuracy of the Swift Boat ads, I will ultimately need you to provide the following:

    1)  The journal you maintained during your service in Vietnam.
    2)  Your military record, specifically your service records for the years
        1971-1978, and copies of all movies and tapes made during your
        service.

When you have done so, if you can then prove anything in the ads was materially untrue, I will gladly award $1 million. As you know, I have been a long and proud supporter of the American military and veterans' causes. I now challenge you to make this commitment: If you cannot prove anything in the Swift Boat ads to be untrue, that you will make a $1 million gift to the charity I am choosing -- the Medal of Honor Foundation.

Do you know something, or was this just an alliteration?

Kerry is going to get his clocks cleaned on this challenge because not only was he a liar, but some of his friends were too. They gave so many different versions of the same event to different media that you needed a roadmap and a bottle of aspirin just to follow what they said.

Kranish is also a liar and a Kerry pansy. Not all the AARs (After Action Reports) are at the Navy Historical Center in D.C. Many reports may have been destroyed in Vietnam, while others were never written down, only given verbally.

The National Archives is very short of good AAR’s for many battle actions because they were small skirmishes, one among dozens, scores or hundreds a day.

Occasionally you can find a two line AAR summary, such as happened with (Sen). Kerrey’s operation in the Delta.

He who writes the reports, rules, and apparently Kerry wrote the Bay Hap River report, among many others. The same for the B-40 VC rocketeer incident. You would never have knowN that there were two other PC boats in support of his beaching operation (See Rood’s piece in the Chicago Tribune).

And the key question for Kerry about his activities after leaving the Navy (Active) but being on the Active Reserve or Inactive Reserve muster rolls, was what did he do, who did he meet, and what did he promise to the communists in Paris (VC-PRG and NVietnamese) during his two trips, possibly three trips? He won’t admit that he made three trips but others have said it. He won’t tell us anything about his second trip, and most of what he said about the first trip was pure BS.

Who paid for the trips? Who was the contact with the communists - an American perhaps? Who went with him?

There is much more to Kerry than just what the Swift Boat Veterans wrote and said. I hinted at some of this in the book (I was one of its researchers).

One day we may find that Kerry was a traitor, unintentional due to stupidity and blindness, but a traitor nevertheless, the perfect Communist dupe.

The only fear is that records have been or will be destroyed or hidden from public scrutiny that will reveal the true Kerry.

I didn’t hear the original challenge by Pickens at the Amer. Spec. dinner, but the letter above was written one week after the dinner in 04. So I don’t see that he has changed anything. The letter appears to be the original “official” challenge.

Wouldn’t Pickens be required to go through all of Kerry’s records to ensure that there are no contradictions to Kerry’s asserted “disproof”? Kerry already has a history of having contradicting entries in his war journal, doesn’t he?

I have monogrammed tinfoil chapeaus for each day of the week, but if Kerry didn’t have an ace in the hole or a way out I doubt he would be pushing on Boone Pickens. On the other hand, my tinfoil picks up vibrations that Hill has asked him to create some distraction to get the righties off her butt. Perhaps she has promised to make him the ambassador to Paris or Ho City.

The key word is PROVE. Pickens won’t accept the ‘word’ of the men on Kerry’s boat, who won their own awards based on his ridiculous accounts. That is not a change.

Some of Kerry’s men certainly earned their awards for action against the enemy. However, one or two may have lied about their combat time with Kerry.

Also, it is what some of them said later that also needs to be challenged. A lot of their statements just don’t make any sense, and come are completely contradictory.

However, they are leaving it to the Kerry-ass-kissers of the media, Chris Matthews, Keith Obersturmfurher, and others, to run interference for him. They are too dumb to ask him an honest question.

Kerry may have an “ace” in the hole as one poster suggested, but I can guarantee you that there is more than just ONE ace in a deck of cards (even if you are playing with a Democrat. In fact, it increases your chances that there are more than 4 aces in a deck - a stacked deck, if you please).

Let’s wait and see how this plays out. I’m betting on Pickens. Kerry will go after little things and pretend that they are really important.

I wasn’t trying to make you look stupid. What you said is absolutely true, he did NOT “sign the 180” so that everything would be released. Colmes lied. I agree! You’re not stupid, you are right.

My post to Bommer was pointing out that Colmes is parroting the cover story that Kerry built into his fake “release of everything” back in 2005.

Kerry did what he did so that he, and his enablers in the press, can whine “I did TOO sign the 180, they’re ganging up on me again!” As long as nobody digs a single layer deeper the story may die, but, I doubt that you, or me, or most anyone here will let that happen.

Research on Kerry and company has never stopped and contradictions and possible outright lies have been and are being investigated and doublechecked by historians, including moi.

It takes a lot of time because the Vietnam records are in such bad shape and often nearly impossible to find.
{I have to hedge my statements as some research is being done by others with whom I don’t have direct contact, so I have to wait to see what they have found or didn’t find).

I’ll leave it at that, but time will tell.
