Arkansas Journal ^ | November 20, 2007 | Henry Rearden

During the 2001 regular session of the Arkansas Legislature, Mike Huckabee supported giving driver's licenses to illegal aliens.

How did he do that? Here are a few excerpts from 2001 articles about the legislation and Huckabee's support of it, as expressed by a spokesman, his liaison to the Arkansas Department of Human Services.

Had an aunt (one of the sweetest nonjudgmental people I've known) that went to Arkansas to live for a "little" while. She couldn't wait to leave and called it a third world country. She was shocked at the prevailing mentality.

Also know of a young man who moved there from Florida with his family and couldn't wait to leave. He refuses to go back.

Never been there myself, but know better than to vote for anyone from there.

While that may be true, you can't do that to Romney. It'd be like trying to stick a fork in jello.

Huckabee will probably change his mind on the road to Des Moines.

Here’s my standard post. We can do something about Illegal immigration.

RICO —Citizen Recourse

Private persons and entities may initiate civil suits to obtain injunctions and treble damages against enterprises that conspire to or actually violate federal alien smuggling, harboring, or document fraud statutes, under the Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO). The pattern of racketeering activity is defined as commission of two or more of the listed crimes. A RICO enterprise can be any individual legal entity, or a group of individuals who are not a legal entity but are associated in fact, and can include nonprofit associations.

Here’s what I’ve been pushing: it’s time to file Racketeering, Influencing, and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) lawsuits.

RICO lawyers could turn it around in a few years and MAKE MONEY at the same time. I’m surprised they haven’t done it already.

In the absence of enforcement, we can get the word out in the meantime that there is money to be made in filing RICO lawsuits against employers who hire illegal aliens.

Employers would have no trouble shutting down the border if they could get sued by someone under the RICO statutes for hiring these people in the first place. The next time an illegal alien kills someone in a drunk driving accident or somesuch thing, I’m going to point out that the victim’s family might be able to seek compensation from the employer under these statutes in the hopes that it would catch on. If this did catch on, would see such a swift backlash against illegal immigration that no employer would go near these people and they’ll all simply want to go back home.

IRS Reporting
REWARD FOR REPORTING EMPLOYERS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS
CALL THE IRS HOTLINE 1-800-829-0433 YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO A REWARD
Call the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) hotline 1-800-829-0433 to report all
suspected employers of illegal aliens-—you are not required to identify
yourself and may be entitled to a reward. The Application for Reward ( Form 211 http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f211.pdf)
can be downloaded from http://www.irs. gov or call 1-800-829-3676. The IRS does
not take kindly to employers that seek to evade taxes by paying cash for day
labor-this is a common practice at construction sites. Report the employer`s
license plate number and any other information you may have. Employers usually
can’t run and take the hit in their wallets. Follow up with the IRS and ask
what action is being taken; if they refuse to cooperate, notify the press and
your elected officials. Do your part-—spread the word-—help make this
nationwide campaign a success!!!

Hunter’s criticism of Thompson & Romney over this issue is well aimed. We need someone in the white house who isn’t a johnny-come-lately on this issue.

There once was a Governor, Mitt
For whom the label of “liberal” fit
But when his constituency changed
It was all rearranged
And it bothered him not even a whit

What is it with some southern Republican governors? Everybody thought Huck was a conservative and a stand-up guy, but then he went goofball liberal. Meanwhile, Don Sundquist of Tennessee lied through his teeth and tried to impose a state income tax!

Must be something in the water....

I always thought a Minister’s job was to take care of his flock. It appears to me, Huckabee deserted his own flock and took on the better paying position of Judas Goat.

Arkansas is a good place to live. Please don’t judge us all by two of our most famous governors. There are many hard-working, God-fearing, and decent people in this state.

I think you’re right. Huck even admitted it when he wrote in his book, “Character is the Issue,” that he left the ministry because he believed he could better help people through politics. Something is really wrong with that statement.

Please don’t tell people that Arkansas is a good place to live. I have lived in several other States and am very pleased some people hate us. I hope they stay away and don’t change their minds. B J Clintoon’s dear mom moved from Hope to Hot Springs because Hope was in a dry county. They moved to Hot Springs AR where the bars were open nearly all the time, horse racing was legal and prostitution was openly practiced( mafia ?). :0)
