Why can’t atheists just ignore the nativities during Christmastime? Or are their panties so badly bunched up in there that it’s just impossible?

Sometimes you have to look far away for a chance to get your name in the paper, apparently.

"The Freedom from Religion Foundation ...." Gee, and here I thought the U.S. Constitution guaranteed freedom of religion.

Maybe we can keep them quiet by putting a statue of Madeline Murray O’Hair alongside the Nativity scene.

Not much. I lived in Menominee for about four years and moved away almost 20 years ago. (Man I’m getting old!) The last thing Menominee needs is someone in Wisconsin dictating to them. It always seemed to me that they felt inferior to their sister city across the river, Marinette, and were also very afraid of lawsuits. Maybe things have changed on the last two decades.

The Freedom from Religion Foundation,
based in Madison, Wisconsin
There's one in every town these days but
Madison seems to produce them by the bunch.

Freedom from Athiest Whining Foundation...
Anyone want to join?
I'd also like to belong to the Freedom from Gay Pride Parade Foundation too since a lot of those people don't have the common sense to put some clothes on... the last thing I ever want to see again is a pot-bellied, old man in a diaper.

Most likely, some Evangelical Atheists are missionaries to Menominee.
And have bravely decided to come to the aid of the "persecuted"
atheists of Menominee.
Just another evidence of the enshrinement of "The Crank's Veto"
in the USA.

Pittsburgh used to go through this every year. The city would put up a Nativity scene — someone complained. They put up a display celebrating all religions (including Kwanzaa which is not really a religion) — someone filed suit. Every year it was something someone didn’t like, and every year the already nearly bankrupt city had to spend money on legal fees to defend against the whiners and complainers.
Today, the city has this non-offensive display — so sanitized, you just about don’t notice it. Now the Christmas tree is called the Unity Tree. Bleah. Then the season itself was called “Sparkle Season.” Last year, it was “Holiday Season with a Twist.” Twist of what, I don’t know. Not sure what they’re calling it this year.
One year someone filed suit when the USX Tower (private property) put up this really gorgeous creche. Fortunately, the judge tossed the case.
About atheists — I know quite a few and they really don’t care one way or the other. These whiners don’t necessarily represent all atheists. They just want to find something to whine and complain about (and in the process, try to bankrupt every government entity).

What is it about the clause ‘free exercise thereof’ that these intolerant atheist nitwits don’t understand?

Why doesn’t somebody who lives nearby volunteer to have it on their property. This is such an easy solution. People are so dang stupid. I would if I was in the position to have a government building near me. This is getting ridiculous. I think both sides love the attention otherwise we would not go through this year after year.

There is a Menominee, Wisconsin as well.

I think the atheists should be able to display a large ZERO, since they believe in nothing.

"The Freedom from Religion Foundation filed a letter with the city, saying the display would violate the separation of Church and State." BS!
The Nativity scene does not violate: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,"
But you atheists are having the government violate: "Congress shall make no law... or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

Getting worse. Saying “mother and father” is illegal in some areas. You can be arrested for drawing a picture of a noose. You lose your job for saying what you think, or repeating known facts.
Seems to me that everything that White Christian heterosexuals NORMALLY say and do is being criminalized!
Where has the country gone?
