Sorry...but IMO, "most" Americans couldn't tell you the capital of the state they live in, nor their Congresscritters name.

The key must be winning back the independent voter who have been polled as favoring DemonRATs 2 to 1. This is also the largest voter sector. Much of their dissatisfaction has been with the war in Iraq. If the war can turn around soon, the focus can turn on the border problem.

The DemonRATs have no serious fix on the border problem. And this is why I called this the Achilles heel for the DemonRATs. Independents are more angry about the border problem than they are about the war in Iraq. If a candidate could cast themselves as an independent, outside the Washington Beltway non partisan, they could attract the independent voter. That candidate appears to be Fred Thompson.

Bush has shown little to no interest in what is happening in the USA. Illegal aliens are killing large numbers of Americans and our open border pose a great problem in WOT, and Bush does what? Brave BP agents are framed and sent to jail for doing their job.
