Thanks for the ping...keep me on your list, please.
LOL
WE THE PEOPLE asked him to step up for our Country. And gratefully, he did. Fred Thompson is a WE THE PEOPLE candidate.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all. About to go to “Speed” Kansas for dinner, but stopped by to check in before I left. Made Pecan and Pumpkin pies before I put the turkey in last night...2:00 a.m. God Bless our men and women serving all over the world and God Bless all you here at FreeRepublic.
Will do. Happy Thanksgiving.
What instills confidence in me about FRed is that it appears to me that he’s not going to say anything that he doesn’t believe, that he’s not going to change his stripes to win this election. I like FRed. I trust him more than any of the other potentials. He’s got my vote.
it’s 43 days.
Yea. 43 days before Iowa in 2004, Kerry was 20 points behind Dean and in 5th place. Remind me...How did that one come out?
Reagan was 20 points behind George H.W. Bush two weeks before the New Hampshire Primary in 1980, having lost the Iowa Caucus. How did that one come out? (Hint: In an 11 candidate field, it was Reagan 51; Bush 27; the rest split the remainder)
Buchanan wasn’t even an asterisk until he exceeded expectations in 1996 by upsetting Gramm in the Louisiana caucus, which propelled him to a surprise 2nd place finish in Iowa, which propelled him to an upset win over Dole in New Hampshire, all three contests occurring between February 7 and February 20, 1996, a space of 13 days. The party later coalesced against him because he was perceived to be too radical and intemperate.
If Thompson exceeds expectations, which are mighty low now, look out. It will not be possible for the establishment to paint him as a dangerous radical. 43 days is an eternity in Presidential politics, especially in a volatile fluid race like this with the kind of electoral weaklings Fred faces in Rudy, Romney and Huckabee, each with a boxcar full of baggage and a spotty record as votegetters.
Your childish labels diminish your credibility, and reflect poorly upon the candidate you represent in this forum. You say you are just mimicking those Republicans who also resort to adolescent name calling.
When someone jumps off a cliff, do you also follow?
“Or pushed socialized Medicine.”
Yeah, but, but, Romney just promised to have 100% health coverage in four years using capitalism!
I love it!
We should call it something...
Something catchy, something that has umph!
Let’s see...
Hum...
I got it!
Fascism!
Yup, that has a nice ring to it...
Of course then it’s no longer Capitalism, but what the hell, huh?
You were sooooo close, I know it was at the tip of your tongue -
Compassionate Fascism!
NOT just your country club Republican Daddy’s corporate welfare! Take it for a spin, we know you’ll like it!
I forgot to care...
