the 15th Amendment, ratified in 1870, ... guaranteed the rights of all citizens over the age of 18 to vote.It was the 26th amendment that lowered the voting age to 18.
Amendment 26 - Voting Age Set to 18 Years. Ratified 7/1/1971.

WHAT is wrong with literacy tests?
Back in the day in the South one of the issues was who was grading the test - some locally elected official or an appointee of such. Who knew how the (white) voters who elected him and/or his boss wanted him to grade the tests.
If you were black and had a college degree, somehow you STILL couldn’t pass the literacy test.
If you were Lil’ Abner, no problem.
Of course in those days no one, black or white, could get through college without knowing how to read. That’s not a statement you can be sure of these days.

That’s all well and good, Conspirator, but the really important question is: What are the Illuminati doing about it?

The legend that I find most disturbing is that Hillary Clinton is the smartest woman in America. She's a woman? I hadn't heard that legend.

She knew that, because her husband, a union shop foreman, had told her so. And in the next election she will believe the same story, hook line and sinker, yet again

The Constitution of the United States of America has been set to expire by the United Nation with the approval of GATT, LOST, and KYOTO. One down two to go.

Well then count that as a new one for me. I grew up in eastern Pennsylvania and, pronounced phoenetically, “hayna” meant just about anything. I believe it was a short and heavily accented version of “hey now.”

I had one black student tell me that after their right to vote would be taken away there would be a national attempt to reinstall slavery. He swears to me this is true.Ask him where he heard it. Then play to his paranoia - tell him you need to know so that the leak can be plugged.

"... a requirement that states provide bilingual ballots." I would assume that the one of the languages would be English? Does the Voting Rights Act state the second language that should be used on a bilingual ballot? If not I suggest it be Dadibi!

Being black, I get these crap emails all the time. What bugs me is that these emails are forwarded from people w/educations, including graduate degrees. I just shake my head and wonder wtf these people are thinking, where is their knowledge of history? It’s just stupid and yet people report this stuff to each other as if it were the gospel.

a more wide spread “fact” in the black community is that president bush stole the 2000 election. have had several of my wife’s uncles tell me that bush actually lost the state of florida when the votes were all counted.

Geez, sorry... I went to “da U” in Scranton, and was just a bit nostalgic for the dialect/accent. My only reference to The Office was just that it hadn’t captured the local dialect. It’s like Cheers would be with out the Bostonian.

The Dems exploit the Race Card for political gain. Nothing new here.

Reminds me of another incident:
Around 16 or so years ago in New York City, there was a rumor that an inexpensive soft drink under the brand name "Tropical Fantasy" made "black men sterile". Due to this rumor, the sales of "Tropical Fantasy" soda fell something like 50% in neighborhoods in Harlem and Brooklyn.
There was even a press conference where Dinkins, who was mayor at the time, had to take a swig of Tropical Fantasy to show everyone that it was safe to drink.
Hillarious, if not saddening.

There's been talk of a chemical in Churches Chicken to make Blacks sterile... Personally, I LOVE Churches Chicken, and I'd eat there more often if it was closer to my house! And then there was the infamous Snapple rumor... Depending on the rumor, the word was that the KKK actually owned, or received contributions from the owners. As proof, there was that "K" on the label. Plus there was a picture of the slave ship unloading its cargo on the bottles of iced tea. Of course, we all know that the "K" means that the owners of Snapple are forcing the American public to pay the Zionist "Kosher Tax," (/sarc), i.e. it's Kosher. And the "slave ship?" Well, not exactly. If you actually look at the label, you will see that it's a very famous engraving of the Boston Tea Party... Imagine that... The Boston Tea Party on a bottle of iced tea... I never would have thought of that!
