"Elites" tend to prefer a society where they are on top, the other 99+% are on the bottom, and there is a wide gulf between top and bottom with no middle
I have no use for those people and deserve to be put on the bottom. I worked for one program manager who was an utter b***h. She is from the East Coast - Maryland and she had the gall to say something to me that I should not be investing money in stocks and instead should be putting it into the bank like everyone else. She mentioned that investing in stocks were meant for certain people and it was an "exclusive club". I have several ideas on how she found out. First, I have no debt like a house. Second, I had a calendar from my stock broker which mentioned private client inside my desk. You have to have a lot of money to be a private client. Someone mentioned that the saw her snooping around my desk one day when I was gone. The person who saw her did not get seen by her while she was looking around but mentioned it to me when I got back. She was the one that had my truck sticker-ed when I parked it up front since I got in early. It was sticker-ed with a tow notice and the reason is it was considered an eyesore. Also one of her "minions" called me into his office to chew my @$$ out for something so petty. Using a bathroom on a different floor where I did not have to wait for a stall to open and it had very little use by other people.
I am glad I don't work there anymore.

Nope, my point remains that it is a lie to pretend that ALL items claimed as U.S. exports are manufactured in the USA.
Is that clear enough for you, rude Boy?

we have a huge trade deficit we are payingback withcheaper dollars...., isnt that good?Ask all the p.o. Germans whose government paid off the ww1 debts with hyper-inflated German Marks crushing the savings of the middle class.
They ended up electing Hitler in power and we all know how that went...

Much like it is a lie to pretend that ALL items claimed as U.S. exports are not manufactured in the USA. You are really cooking with gas now!
To: Spktyr; VxH
Hey, this is too much fun to keep you out of it (please tell us):
Did you lie?
Did you "misspeak?"
Did you know something about that chip the rest of us do not?
Or did you deliberately seek to conceal that Texas Instruments is a global corporation?
VxH has worked himself all into a lather, poor thing.
To: 1rudeboy
His point was that no US manufacturers will benefit from a lower dollar. Now he won’t admit he was wrong. Kinda funny.

I was wondering why the fixation on the word “all,” and the unwillingness to acknowledge that I understand the point he’s making (but not my point, that it serves as a distraction from the original question). I suppose that, when being shelled, some just try and wait it out in the bunker.

Lonestar said, "Lower dollar means more export power for our companies"
He didn't say all American companies. Not all American companies export. Not all American manufacturers export.
The fact that some percentage of exports have some foreign content doesn't refute what Lonestar said, so I don't know what VxH is trying to prove.

Wait a minute. Is this the thread where we have a couple other FReepers crowing about how the lower dollar has helped their (manufacturing) business? Are they part of the conspiracy also?
This is serious. It's one thing to try to conceal the fact that a publicly-traded, multi-billion dollar corporation proclaims on its own website that it has operations all over the world, and entirely another to claim one's company is doing well, when we all know that nothing is manufactured in the United States anymore and that we are all just a couple steps from working as baristas at Starbucks and eating out of dogfood cans.

No doubt. Probably Chinese agents.

[ALL items claimed as U.S. exports are not manufactured in the USA.]
I didn't say ALL. The above is how you choose to distort what I said.
I should have been specific an said some, because that IS what I meant. What I wrote can be interpreted either way; My bad for leaving you room for interpretation and distortion.
However, when someone explicitly says ALL, well I think they explicitly mean ALL.
See, going back to your KFC disinformation, saying "ALL KFC chicken is made next to my house" implies that ALL of the jobs related to making ALL KFC Chicken are, also, ALL right by your house.
The fact, however, is that an unknown amount of the product in question may not even be manufactured in the same country as your house, let alone right by your house. And that means the pretend associated jobs, with which you'd like to woo the sheeple, aren't right by your house, either.
Somebody using weaker dollars to buy American "exports" that are actually manufactured in Taiwan is hardly the same thing as when those weak dollars are used to buy products manufactured by American citizens in one of the United States. Lumping these two transaction types together under the term "Export" is at best misleading and at worst, a lie.
So, what's the pretend definition of Export in this week's Newspeak dictionary, woood Boy?

Let him be in a lather.
If he can’t be bothered to do the research about which chips for which markets are produced where and only wants to speak in generalities, fine. I’m not going to do his work for him.

Let's back up, because you're kinda' slow.
Someone asked if electronics are still made in the U.S.
Someone else replied that he has an electronics plant down the street from his house.
You jumped in to inform us that there are electronics plants elsewhere in the world.
Now, there may be some people on this thread who didn't know there are electronics plants elsewhere in the world, although that is doubtful because even the
original question implies otherwise. In any case, I thank you on their behalf, where ever they may be, if they exist.
The fact remains that even you don't know what you've accomplished with your interjection, apart from your belief that you saved us all from a terrible lie that none but you recognized. (Stop the presses! VxH has discovered a TI plant outside the United States!)
You sure as heck didn't prove anything to me, because I already knew TI was a global corporation. On that basis, I have to argue that you didn't prove anything to most of the people on this forum (protectionists included), because I believe that most other people also know TI is a global corporation.
I really can't spell it out in a more simple fashion than that, so you'll have to make do.
To: 1rudeboy
"It's a very interesting argument to make: I have a chip plant three miles from my house.
Yeah, but there is a chip plant in Vanuatu!"

Yes. Didn't you ever take a Logic class? This is known by logicians as the "Principle of Reflexive Antagonism," and it's formulated as follows:
-If X is true
-And Y is true
-THEN, X is NOT true
Geeze, I thought everybody knew that.

[speak in generalities]
Spktyr: "Their chips are all still made here, less than three miles from my home."
Were you generalizing or being specific when you used the word 'all'?
Did you mean some or all?
Are you certain I'm not going to open up some device and see a TI DSP chip that's labeled "Made in Taiwan" or some country other than the U.S.?

I call it the SCUD missile argument. Load it up with concrete, launch it in the direction of the enemy, and hope it hits something important.
