As irrefutable evidence mounts that Nobel Laureate Al Gore's climate alarmism is about nothing other than lining his supposedly green pockets with green currency, manmade global warming skeptics around the world wonder when the former vice president's house of cards will collapse.
Without question, if Gore were to lose the support of almost universally adoring Hollywoodans, the scam would implode quicker than a Democrat demanding a recount after losing a close election.
As such, the following comments by actor and environmentalist Robert Redford, reported by the New Statesman last week, should bring hope to folks not buying the snake oil Gore is selling (emphasis added, h/t NB reader Lee):
Redford was an early convert to the environmental movement, and talks proudly of having campaigned on it since 1969. "It was not a happy easy time, because those were the days that the oil and gas companies pretty much controlled the show on propaganda. Anyone speaking about solar energy would be smashed down as being a radical, a tree-hugger and granola-cruncher or what have you."
He is notably cynical, however, about Al Gore's recent award of a Nobel Peace Prize. "He's making a lot of money, he's having a belle époque, a heroic moment," he says.

It almost sounds like Redford is provoking Al Gore into running for President one more time--- by making him feel guilty?
Great, a cat fight between two pansies!
Paging Jiffy Pop!! Please send more popcorn!!
There’s always hope for these people. I remember reading one of the leaders of Greenpeace or whateber is now a nuclear power advocate.
Takes one to spot one. ;-)
I was a huge fan of movies like ‘The Sting’, and of course, ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’. Even that old Twilight Zone with Redford was a great episode. But I find it tough to look at Redford these days. The plastic surgery is over the top, imo.
Whatever it is, it’s probably groaning a sigh of relief. Al looks stuffed full of carbon to me.
"Damn dry cleaner shrunk my suit again. Get me John Edwards on the phone, I wanna sue the pants off that dry cleaner."
Father Gore, forgive them for the no not what they do.
The Goracle is filled with hot gas which he will dispense to his minions..
Fight on the Gravy Train!
I can’t swim!
I agree with the first part. He will always be an iconic American actor. It isn't, however, any surgery that makes him hard to look at today. It's his odious politics, along with an obvious lack of intelligence and class.
A civit cat telling a skunk that he stinks!
While Redford and Hollywood pulling the rug out from under Al Gore would be downright funny, don’t count on the Left Coast to do the country any favors. There’s still too much corporate environmental guilt out there to milk.
