tough question here.. Assuming Labor has taken control of the Aussie government.. how much of a “threat” to U.S./Aussie relations is this? Can you link me to some campaign speeches or platform data for this new Aussue Government.. In particular their view on the Global War on Terror.. thanks..

Honestly, it’s hard to say at this point.

Rudd intends to pull some Australian troops out of Iraq, but he’ll leave most of our troops in theatre.

He also may boost our numbers in Afghanistan.

He’s tried to give the impression to Australian voters, that he’s going to pull out more than checking his actual policies suggests he plans to do.

In my view, he’s having to cater to the anti-American, anti-war elements of his party, far more than he’d like to. So I’m not sure where he will go once elected.

I think that it won’t take long for the left and the unions to drag Rudd to the loony left.
