A Day in the Life of President Bush (with photos): 11-24-07

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

PHOTO (s) OF THE DAY (returning to the White House from Camp David today)

QUOTE(s) OF THE DAY

President's Radio Address

"Good morning. This week our Nation celebrated Thanksgiving. American families and friends gathered together to express gratitude for all that we have been given.

We give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy. We give thanks for the loved ones who enrich our lives. And we give thanks for the many gifts that come from this prosperous land. Thanksgiving is a time when we acknowledge that all of these things, and life itself, come not from the hand of man, but from Almighty God."

* * *

(Not saying it's so, but a certain #1 talkshow host mentioned that he was going to "Wyoming" to see "friends." Just sayin' and wondering if it could be a certain VP .... ;)

* * *

The Annapolis Conference for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will take place November 26-28, 2007. Secretary Condoleezza Rice says "Arab nations must fully support peace talks."

* * *

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates will lead the American delegation to the 4th annual Gulf regional security summit known as the Manama Dialogue.

Delegations from 23 governments in the Gulf and around the world will attend the summit next month in the Bahraini capital, said a statement this week from its organizers, London-based think tank the International Institute for Strategic Studies.

Just the Facts: Circuit Court Confirmation Delays by the Numbers (11/16/07)

"Today I announced seven more outstanding judicial nominees for the district and circuit courts. And I look forward to working with the United States Senate to confirm these good men and women as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the Senate has failed to act on many of my other nominees. ... This leads to what are called 'judicial emergencies' - vacancies that cause justice to be degraded or delayed."

~~~~
The link above details this unnecessary and contentious situation ... the ability of our system of justice to operate, purely and irresponsibly because of politics.
A couple of examples:
"11: There are 11 circuit court nominees now awaiting Senate confirmation.
6: There are 6 circuit court nominees pending in the Senate Judiciary Committee who have been nominated to fill vacancies that are considered "judicial emergencies."
ALL CLEAR for posting or re-posting photos or appropriate graphics in keeping with the spirit of this thread.
For those who can't comprehend "A Day In The Life of President Bush," we who gather here admire, respect and support our President. This is OUR "Sanity Island." So, please remember that .. and maybe think 3 times before you jump in with any junk, offensive comments or inappropriate graphics. Thank you.
I live on an island in the South Pacific, four years out of five. I make occasional excursions back home for special events such as MY SON COMING HOME FROM IRAQ!!!! That was September.
It was a good Saturday. I worked...at the mall...but it was steady instead of nuts.
This has been a darn good holiday weekend. I am making (now don’t faint) veggie soup for supper. Yum! I usually don’t cook, but that just sounded good on a chilly evening.
The graphic at the top of the thread looks very similar to my favorite beach here.
:::
You don’t suppose - you’re not saying - that someone may be going to try to talk some sense into Cheney - to run for President? We can hope, can’t we?
(I hear the sound of liberals everywhere - packing to move out of USA)
I don’t think that would be the reason .. if my speculation could EVER be so ... but maybe just a nice visit between a big Bush/Cheney supporter and friend and a certain Wyoming “person” .. out of that friendship. :)
