My guess is that the MSM wants to dispel the impression of inevitability of a Hillary presidency, so early in the process. They are worried that if the voters think that the election is already over, they will not turn out at the polls. I think so too. I think Hillary and co. have directed the MSM to play down the "sure thing" idea in an effort to make their volunteer army redouble their efforts.
