That was a small business owner trying to rob an armored truck.

Must not have qualified for his loan!

probably the sign was obscured by holiday decorations, leading to the tragedy.

Houston PING. I guess it wasn’t nicknamed Gunspoint Mall for nothing...

So you admit the Pasadena area? Most people I know from Pasadena claim Clear Lake as their home. :) I currently live in Spring.

They are still doing the processing there, it’s close to that hotel across the street.

I moved into the Inwood North subdivision last week, I am not going to miss Greenspoint.

The mall has taken a severe downturn, they turned the Dillards into a Clearance store, the bookstore is gone and they’ve lost another anchor store. I am surprised it is still running.

I used to live in a relatively decent apartment complex near there in the early 90s. It was a nice place until the sun went down. I swear I heard automatic fire a few times.

My understanding is that the crime rate has vastly improved since those days, but I wouldn’t go near the place anymore.

Apparently there was a 911 call to report a burglary, and the caller said something about being “about to be harmed...” and the operator heard gunshot(s).

At least THIS 911 operator won't have to appear in court to say on the stand "I told the caller NOT to shoot to bad guy."

His aspirations were to line his supporters’ pockets with public dollars. He’s been very successful with that.

“For improving the city” was just an excuse.

Now we get even more stadiums (soccer) because you just know that the Houston Sports Authority will never go away.

Sounds like our own beloved Fox Hills Mall here in LA. Seems like there’s a shooting there at least every couple years.

Y’know, if HPD had some unmanned drones flying over the mall NONE of this would ever have happened.

Local Channel 13 (ABC) claims it was a murder, suicide. The woman who worked in the lingerie store at the mall called her mother and said she needed help and shortly afterwards shots were heard. They are waiting confirmation from HPD.

I guess the boyfriend didn't want to break up with her.

(((This is why I no longer go to malls, I strictly go to open shopping centers now.)))

That didn’t help George Wallace. Sorry...couldn’t resist!

Yep! The woman who gots "Trampeded" at the KMart has coined a new word! LOL

I love the new word! It's fun to say and if you say it right it is clear what it means. I'm going to use it lots!

I've lived in Ho-Town for a few years now, but am still learning about the No-Go areas.

Sometimes I'll tell people where I rode my mountain bike the previous night and am admonished that "good people don't go there that time of day". I have learned a lot about this fair city that way, but I have a long way to go regarding the Forbidden Wards.

Note: if you wanna buy crack cocaine, ride your bicycle past the intersection of Ruthven and Valentine at or after 10pm, but use care, as there are a lot of toddlers in diapers running around the street at that hour.

Note 2: If you are looking for gay sex, Memorial park is rife w/ homos looking for same, and their M.O. is to leave their car/trunk/hatchback door open while they play their radio real loud. They also ask if you want gay sex, and that tends to further identify them.

See, I've learned a lot so far!

News is still limited, but we know one thing for sure:

It’s definitely not terrorism.
