Duly noted: virtually no contribution to the private sector at all.
Figures.
Even though her undergrad degree was in sociology, and her work experience has been in mainly advocacy jobs, her resume’ really is stronger than Ms Clinton’s, or at least equal.
I’m waiting to see all 5’11’’ of Michelle standing next to Ms Clinton in a news photo.
Ms Clinton, born 1946/7, is looking at the future - born 1964
and she does not like it one bit!!! Ha Ha. And Mr Clinton is not doing her any favors these days, as he campaigns for her using the first person pronoun almost exclusively!.
“I was like, okay, what’s that about?”
Hey like I like can like understand like what like you like mean like about like that dude.
Naw, she has zero influence on women who really work for a living, or are too busy raising their kids to sit around eating bonbons (after their 'stories') and watch Oprah. But I hope she has enough influence over welfare-sucking Rat women to get Barry O nominated. Michelle Obama's big mouth will be WAY more amusing than even Teh-Ray-Zuh Ketchup Kerry's was!
Ah, yes... but remember, Michelle took Barack to one of her job interviews.
She couldn’t handle doing an interview on her own, like a big girl.
I have NEVER heard of another woman doing that. Either you can handle being in the big world, or you can’t.
That so true. And since everything Oprah has accomplished IS due to Capitalism then WHY does she keep supporting liberals and quasi socialists who want to UNDERMINE the system that has given her all that?
My take?Deep down inside she is the poor little Black girl from Mississippi who sees herself as”oppressed”because of her dark skin.No matter how much money she has,she sees herself as on of”the people”and identifies with the alleged benefactors of”the masses”.
Nothing sadder than being around a bunch of bitter black woman complaining that”these white women are stealing our men”
Yet,like the song goes,”He would never have left you,had you not drove him away”.
Sigh, I am sure there are quite a few conservative blacks that studied this as well, but I have to wonder at how such a course of study might permanently warp your viewpoint hard left.
she’s supposed to be a smart, educated, professional person? She talks like she has no class at all — no refinement as a “lady”, the way she speaks so casually and so disparingly about her husband — she always has. This is NOT the 1st lady I want to follow Laura Bush. Mrs. Bush could teach this “gal” some manners. Someone should..
boob job...and look at those nails...geez
That’s not Michelle. That’s Sister Patterson from VH1’s ‘I Love New York’ TV show.
whoops....
Sigh, I am sure there are quite a few conservative blacks that studied this as well,...

I doubt it! You may just be trying to be polite. LOL!
I think an even greater fear--and, if I'm not mistaken, she has said so--is that she will fail to use her life and her accomplishments to do good in the world. This is also understandable and commendable.
I admire and respect Oprah very much.
I am only guessing, of course, trying to explain what seems to be her Leftist leanings, I certainly don't know this, but it could be that she considers Marxism, in some form, to be the best way of doing good for the most people, and especially African people and Americans of African descent. If so, I strongly disagree.
Capitalism is not only responsible for Oprah's successes, and for creating the greatest and most prosperous nation the world has ever known, viz. the United States, but it is the only pathway ever divised to fulfillment of The American Dream: viz. liberty, justice, and prosperity for all the people of the world.
Marxism, on the other hand, requires a repressive, totalitarian government for its implementation and maintanence, and, by destroying individual incentive for achievement and prosperity, holds within itself the seeds inevitable economic destruction.
Oprah is a genius, and she is a good person. In fact, these are three of my favorite things that she has said:
Oprah is certainly smart enough to know the things I have said. Maybe she does not promote Marxism. I certainly hope not.
However, she certainly seems to promote the Leftist agenda, and surely, as intelligent as she is, she realizes that the Left is decadence itself, and that the best hope for fulfillment of The American Dream is liberty, justice, capitalism, Western Civilization, and the defeat of the decadence that threatens all of these things and the United States itself.
If I remember correctly, she has said that she is thankful to be living in the U.S.A. I believe that.
I am thankful too.
But I consider the Left to be decadence and to be the greatest threat there is to the U.S.A., Western Civilization, and The American Dream.
“Since when does a black woman suggest that another black person has a funny name? I mean is that not a black cultural thing to give children an unusual name? I mean, who ever heard of the name “Beyonce”?”
Good catch.
Excellent commentary on the paradox known as Oprah Winfrey.
I often wonder if she is aware of the contradictions of her love of Leftist causes and the glowing personal success she has attained that would never be possible in Cuba or North Korea.Who really knows what goes on inside her mind.
Oprah is extraordinarily intelligent, and I am convinced that she is good ar heart. She does so much that I admire.
When she fawns over "celebrities" it gets annoying, but that's forgiveable. She has become a celebrity herself, through her own hard work and resources, something commendable in itself, and she can certainly be forgiven a bit of giddiness at so high an altitude.
I certainly don't know this: but somehow I suspect that many (maybe all) of her closest friends are Leftists and that she allows herself to be influenced by them.
But she thinks so clearly on so many matters--including her comments on the O.J. Simpson trial, which frankly helped me to understand its outcome--that I find it astonishing and worrisome that she does not seem to think clearly about politics and the decadence that is the Left.
She is singlehandedly working wonders to improve race relations in the U.S. and throughout the world--and furthermore to ease the difficulties and frictions arising among the people of the world due to its effective shrinking here in the Information Age.
And she is especially working wonders in bringing Black America out of the horrors of the past and into a brilliant new world--something that White America has long longed for and welcomes, and has been unable to do, and in which White America also finds relief and peace of mind.
However, as America's race problems are solved, Black America will come to be the dominating influence. Black America will inherit the United States. It seems astonishingly short sighted of someone as brilliant as Oprah not to realize that it would be far better for Black America to inherit a healthy, prosperous, and great America than a decadent, sick, impoverished, Marxist America, which is exactly what will happen if the Left prevails.
If Oprah intends to hand over the United States to Black America or--more accurately, I think, to an America unblemished by racism--she would be wise to devote her efforts to keeping the United States the greatest, most prosperous, and most just nation the world has ever known--and the decadence that is the Left, including a commitment to Marxism, will accomplish the exact opposite.
I find it astonishing that Oprah has not thought this through clearly and seen the wisdom in rejecting the Left and the horrible decadence that it represents.
Very well stated,Beast.Yet I find that there is huge disconnect between celebs like Oprah,Cosby, etc. and the people at the so called lower end of the economic scale. This group is still emulating types of behavior that invalidates any chance of success in the American mainstream.
I find it tragically funny when I hear kids in the hood tell me they want to become rich and make their money in Law,Medicine or Business. And the fact is that most of them do not know how to use proper English,do basic math or have any cultural connections to traditional American values. The”cultural literacy”Hirsch wrote about years ago is a complete unknown in most inner city neighborhoods.
Perhaps realities like that influenced Oprah’s decision to concentrate her efforts in South Africa rather than at home.
