I’d like to see a comparison of the impact labor costs have vs. the government regulation costs. If you can dump your toxic chemicals in the back it certainly cheaper to manufacture.

They have to follow the same rules, and do... Again, take a trip to a vendor. Several I've been to are willing to take you on a plant tour.

Probably true about the overhead. That said, however, you can rest assured that Citation X buyers are subsidizing a part of the Airframe liability costs for this...

Piper was forced into bankruptcy by litigation, and has only recently recovered.

This aircraft is the fullfillment of a promise by Cessna CEO Russ Meyer to Senator Kassenbaum who pushed through the liability Statute of Repose legislation.

(Again, from a Meyers Aircraft site:

“LITIGATION”

Crooked, lying lawyers, their “experts”, and stupid jurors!

The lawsuit of The family of Missouri Gov. Mel Carnahan Vs. Parker Hannifin comes to mind. The NTSB ruled the Parker Hannifin vacuum pump did not fail and did not contribute to the crash, yet the jury ruled in favor of the Carnahan family.

It was a good toy. I didn’t have the launcher catapult though.

Not to mention that some in the FAA (or rather lobbyists/corporate types) would love to see General Aviation a lot more restricted than it currently is. That can’t help the price at all. They were using 9/11 hysteria to get the media to make private pilots look bad.

Agreed. Although I do have a soft spot for the Reims Rockets that were made in France! :)

“Something like a wing collapsing on final would be a real downer.”

Let the survivors sue the hell out of Cessna if it is proven that the fault lies with poor workmanship by the manufacturer.

The little C-162 looked so sexy for an inexpensive (relatively) airplane.

But, being made in ChiCom country means I’ll take another look at the RV-12 kit...made in Oregon, USA (and your backyard)

I’d build an airplane before I’d buy one of these.

I noticed my wife bought a package of “farm raised” frozen tilapia - - it’s from China!!!!!! Never again!!!!!!

Would it be safe to eat, or should we just give it to the cats?

The survivors? What survivors? Go ahead, sue Cessna after you are dead. I am sure that will make it all better. sheesh...

I stopped buying talapia also when I noticed where it was “raised” and found out that on these fish farms they feed them..well, don’t even give it to your cat- throw it out.

Don’t give it to the cats unless you don’t like cats. Best to take it back to the store and demand your money back. If we all did this, stores would quit stocking frozen bacteria and industrial waste from China.

Survivors are usually not dead.

correction: survivors are never dead. Unfortunately, airplane accidents produce more corpses than survivors. My point is that suing airplane manufacturers for defective products after an accident isn’t a good plan, since most people will be dead. Get it now?

“Good going Union!”

This ain’t about unions.

This is about wringing every last penny of profit out of the company, American workers be damned.

LITIGATION

Yep. Lawyers have pretty much single handedly killed general aviation in this country.

I despise lawyers.
