"He did have a proper security system- it was (conveniently?) turned off."

Conveniently? and who would do that?
Could it have been it was he was the one who didn't turn it on?

Sounds like another Gumpisim.

According to his girlfriend, the alarm was turned off to accommodate a house guest who was visiting. The same girlfriend, by the way, who was hiding under the covers and therefore unable to identify the attacker(s).

Totally unfair. Lots of people just gave you the reasons why they had problems or have known people with problems with alarms. So the woman’s sister was coming and going and they turned it off.

What’s lost in all of this is that Taylor was abiding by his probation by not possessing a firearm and that’s probably what killed him.

I do believe, however, that Taylor should have just cut ties to Miami altogether.
