This man had the stones to tell Hillary Clinton to shove her FBI files up her fat a— when she threatened to release information about an extra marital affair that Henry Hyde was involved in to the public and to try to ruin his marriage if he would not kowtow to the Clinton armtwisting. Henry Hyde stated that he had worked out those personal problems with his wife and he was willing to take the public heat. Public figures like him with that kind of courage are few. Another Republican Senator who was being blackmailed at the same time was Trent Lott, that’s another story.

He served us well. The senate refused to listen but he was eloquent and could hold his head up high when he left the senate chamber.

Wow. Over 110 posts from ultra conservative freepers paying homage to the man. I don't know anything about his work to preserve the lives of unborn children, but I'm pretty certain that the late Mr. Hyde never saw a gun grab he didn't just love. I hate to speak ill of the dead, but let us not forget he was still flesh and blood and had feet of clay. The right to lifers may have seen him as Dr. Jekyll. But for Sara Brady he was an effective Mr. Hyde inside her opponents (pro 2nd Amendment Republicans) perimeter. Please don't flame me for this observation.
