Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll (Nov. 29)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | Nov. 29, 2007 | Rasmussen

Posted on 11/29/2007 10:11:37 AM PST by FocusNexus

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Hillary Clinton slipping below the 40% level of support for just the second time since late September. At 38%, Clinton’s support hasn’t been lower since September 22. As with all tracking poll data, it remains to be seen whether this reflects a lasting change or is merely a temporary aberration.

Barack Obama now earns support from 24% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters nationwide.

In the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination, Rudy Giuliani continues to lead nationwide with 27% support. Mitt Romney and John McCain each attract 14% support, Mike Huckabee is the choice for 12%, and Fred Thompson is clinging to double digits at 10%. Ron Paul's attracts 4% of Likely Republican Primary voters nationwide and no other Republican candidate reaches 2%

Interesting development. Romney, McCain and now even Huckabee are rising and are now ahead of Thompson nationally. NRL endorsement clearly did not help Fred at all (in fact, exact opposite seems to be true as Fred is slipping both nationally and in SC and FL). Huckabee is now a credible candidate and I expect him to rise in SC as well.

I still don’t know Huckabee well enough and many of his statements re illegal immigration are disturbing.

And then, a funny thing happened on the way to her coronation.

Yeah... she expected the path to be gilded with roses and lilies. Instead, its a path full of thorns and brambles. No wonder Hillary is slipping in the polls.

Thompson drops to 10%, his lowest level of support since Rasmussen started tracking him. The NRLC endorsement failed to move him upward nationally. He remains, for the 3rd day, dead last or tied for last among GOP frontrunners. His drastic drop in support continues, dropping from seond place on 11/20 to dead last among frontrunners yesterday and today as his campaign continues to unimpress.

Romney has held 2nd place (or been tied for second) for 10 of the last 14 Rasmussen polls though he drops a point today. McCain sees a gradual rise, recovering somewhat from his low of 10 points. Huckabee holds steady at 12. Giuliani retains 1st place.

A divided conservative vote may lead to a RINO heading the Pubbie ticket.

Just what we need, a pair that can’t even win their home states in a general election.

Giuliani 42.2, Romney 26.1, Huckabee 12.3, McCain 6.9, Paul 5.6, Thompson 5.3.

Wow. Thompson below Paul. That's gotta hurt.

The fact of the matter is that Romney is the only candidate who has the money, the experience, and the campaign organization to beat Giuliani. Period. He's not the most conservative candidate in the race for the nomination. But he is the most conservative candidate in the race for the nomination who has even a prayer of beating Giuliani. The quicker that people realize this the faster we can all get behind the single candidate who is capable of beating Rudy. Time is running out and the McCain/Thompson/Huckabee distraction is wasting resources and doing damage to Romney that will make it that much harder for the only candidate who has a chance of beating Giuliani to engage in this necessary battle to beat him. Rudy has to be laughing his butt off as the more conservative candidates duke it out against each other while he looks to win the nomination in a walk (and thus utterly destroy the GOP.)

Rush said—the only candidate on the stage last night who was NOT a moderate...(commercial break)...Fred Thompson! So expect a surge...Fred should be doing cartwheels today.

Hey, a New Yorker politihack and an Arkansas politihack, versus a New Yorker/Arkansas political hack.

And people think we are in a rut.

A divided conservative vote may lead to a RINO heading the Pubbie ticket.

Heh, considering few of the GOP candidates are conservative, odds are in favor of an authoritarian, libertarian, or socialist winning. We shall see, though.

I missed that. But we very well may need Rush to take a side to help get Fred some good air time. With fox choosing Rudy he can't catch a break for any press. They are icing him out bigtime...I wish he knew how to overcome that as it's something he'll need as President but right now I'll take anything to help him get his conservative message out.

We can't run against a flip-flopper hillary with a flip-flopper RINO.

That’s because he doesn’t Endorse during the primary. But it’s an implied endoresment if you’re a conservative.

That’s what it’s looking like. As we all vote our consciences for different candidates, the ‘moderates’ and crossover libs vote in unison.
