Nonsense. It is not every pastor's duty to invite any speaker.
You want people speaking from the front of the church who promote true christianity. The congregation can get garbage from TV all day long. It's the pastor's duty to see that they get christian messages in church. Her Heinous does NOT preach a christian message.

You're right. I don't know what's up with Rick's mind but certainly Hillary's speech is not the main part of the service... :-) Neither her speech is against Christianity. And I think Rick will never decide on it without informing the Church Leadership Council, if they have.
That experience for Hillary could give her some ideas of what a Christian congregation is and how they deal with folks like her.
As far as the Truth about Christianity is concern, i'm very sure the congregation knows that. They will discern what is not right. Surely some in the congregation must have been surprised by Rick's decision but the problem is they can't do anything about it. Now that it happened the congregation will flood the church council with question about why this thing happened.
let’s not confuse real christianity with american civil religion...
NO, it is not his duty. If he invites a speaker, he automatically stands behind that speaker and his or her agenda. He is giving Hilary a great pat on the back, as Billy Graham did in NY.
