Republicans Report Much Better Mental Health Than Others
Gallup ^ | November 30, 2007 | by Frank Newport

RINCETON, NJ -- Republicans are significantly more likely than Democrats or independents to rate their mental health as excellent, according to data from the last four November Gallup Health and Healthcare polls. Fifty-eight percent of Republicans report having excellent mental health, compared to 43% of independents and 38% of Democrats. This relationship between party identification and reports of excellent mental health persists even within categories of income, age, gender, church attendance, and education. The basic data -- based on an aggregated sample of more than 4,000 interviews conducted since 2004 -- are straightforward.

I'm sure nobody here is surprised. Neither would Michael Savage be surprised ("Liberalism Is A Mental Disorder").

The pertinent question, of course, is which is the cause and which is the effect in this relationship.

Republicans have common sense.

There is definitely something wrong with liberals = perpetually aggrieved, whiners & moaners who lie, cheat, steal, and are the most unhappy people on the planet.

Liberals are impossible to talk to because instead of engaging in a conversation they immediately become offended if they disagree with what you say. Another thing, if you ever ask a liberal to answer a question based on something they've said... they're miffed or unable to provide an answer. It's like they're Stepford People... no substance, recorded messages (not their own thoughts)... very freaky people.

“Republicans Report Much Better Mental Health Than Others”

More likely to be observant in their religional practices (and the
attendent cultural practices such as moderate eating, lower consumption of
alcohol, much less use of illicit drugs and fewer illicit sexual conduct)....
wonder if this has been investigated as (at least part of) the explanation?

I think a large portion of the Lefties unconscious brain is ALWAYS busy trying to reconcile what the conscious brain believes with what the real world actually is.

Those two are irreconcilable, and that continuous difference leads to mental problems. Think of HAL in “2001 A Space Odyssey”.

Generally, Repubs don’t have those irreconcilable differences within.

I'd go with mental health is the cause and Republican affiliation is the effect. I left the RAT party cause I couldn't stand being around all the whiny, depressed malcontents.

Things I’ve only heard liberals say:

“I expect to be in therapy for the rest of my life.”

“Everyone should be seeing a mental health professional on a regular basis.”

“I felt very depressed for weeks after the election.”

“I’m in a bad situation, and there is nothing I can do to get out of it.”

Feel free to add a few.

Or the American Psychiatric Association - or whatver they are called - will narrow the criteria for “mental health” so that almost no one meets it.

You know - sorta the way they have decreed that being a “boy” requires medication.

Of course. Everyone knows that DINOrats have undergone severe brainwashing to expunge any values and principles they may have been taught by their parents. Values clarification, situational ethics, permissiveness, and political correctness have replaced those values and principles with utter egomania, closed and confused minds.
And Congress is full of them!

You’re right. Where Republicans tend to be skeptical about anything the news media says, Democrats tend to take as gospel anything they read or see on TV. No wonder they’re bonkers.

Liberal speak... eeeks!!

“I still haven’t gotten over Bush win over Gore... Bush win over Kerry”

“My car still has Gore 2000 and Kerry/Edwards 2004 bumper stickers (although they’re a little faded) right along with all my other moonbat stickers”

“I’ve spent $$$$ trying to come to grips with these situations BUT nothing helps. My shrink suggested it might be the company I keep...”

I thought this was interesting:

The more a Republican goes to church the better his/her mental health is. Democrats have marginal effect and in some cases goes down the more they attend church.

I think it is called cognitive dissonance.

They think it is ok to kill babies in the womb i.e. the
most innocent among us and it is not ok to execute
murderers i.e. the most evil. among us

I’m surprised that when their brain tries to reconcile
these two beliefs that their brains don’t go squirting out
their ears.
