Last night's episode of ER was a serious slam against the approximately 150 million Americans who are opposed to illegal immigration. ABC has the teenaged son of a patient in the emergency room verbally abuse an illegal Guatamalan woman over her performance on her job, her receiving free medical care, and her inability to speak English. Her son, also present in the emergency room, tries to defend his mother and ends up taking a swing at the boy. They end up in a wrestling match on the ER floor, which is then broken up by the security guards and ER personnel. Later on in the show, the two meet again with the result that the son of the illegal is beaten (with a baseball bat) by the boy who verbally attacked his mother and injured fatally. In an email to the producers of ER I pointed out that if we all acted like this there would be no more illegals in the US because we would have beaten them all to death with baseball bats. Instead, there is amazingly little expression of the collective outrage that most Americans feel about illegal immigration. If anything, we are extremely tolerant of the illegals among us. Perhaps we are too tolerant. One thing is for sure: illegals among us are in no danger of being killed by citizens. If only we could say the same thing about them!
Of course, O Wise Hollywood Writers! For lo, any and all who oppose illegal immigration JUST MUST be not only bigots, but VIOLENT bigots.

I almost watched ER last nite, glad I didn’t - woulda made me cranky.

Not all illegal immigrants don’t know English. And so there is a very easy fix to the writer’s strike. Just hire illegal immigrants to replace the U.S. writers.
Let me be the first to state that I’ll bet these bastards never replace some of their own with illegals.

Hence why I don’t watch crap TV anymore. Law & Order, same thing. They can stuff it. I’d rather watch CSPAN and surf the net.
Didn’t see the ER episode as I stopped watching that show years ago, but Law & Order SVU has just about pissed me off with the lefty political messages.
Yes, I’m sure they’re quite proud of themselves as they drive home to their gated communities.

It sure does. My household (3 adults, 2 dogs, 3 cats) does not receive cable, dish, or any type of broadcast TV. We have television sets and DVD players. For news, the internet is utilized.
