MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - A college student accused of shoving a pumpkin pie into the face of a shopping-mall Santa Claus has been charged with misdemeanor assault.
Clint Westwood, 22, said he "lightly smooshed" the pie into the man's face Friday and shouted, "What do you think of that, Santa?"
Westwood, a drama student at the University of Montana, said he videotaped the encounter and plans to include the clip in an upcoming film.
He said that after the pie ruckus on Wednesday, he expected to approach Santa for a signature on a film-release form, but police arrived first.
"It's a good thing he didn't wait around, because I think Santa would have laid him out," said Sgt. Travis Welsh of the Missoula Police Department.
Westwood said he and companions had waited for a girl about 15 years old to finish sitting on Santa's lap before the pie hit his face, "but then we just decided it would be funnier if she was still sitting there."
The dork getting his butt kicked by Santa? That would be funny!

why? My husband and I had our photos taken with Santa...it was fun and everyone loved it. We put the photo out every Christmas.
Why would he when he didn’t care about putting a pie in someone’s face. How would he like it????? If I were Santa I would warn him that he better not use that video in whatever junk he is making. If Santa does not give permission Santa could sue the punk.
Punks will continue to do things like this until average citizens start beating the snot out of them for doing so. These things go on because we allow them to.

He messed up the man’s work clothes for the day, he negated whatever time and effort was devoted by the parents and kids in line to see him, and whatever promotion value the mall hired him for was lost for the rest of the day.
These jerks don’t realize that the other people in the world are not just props to the pie thrower’s self amusement.
Unless this was done to protest bigoted Christian homophobes and the commercial nature of Christmas. In that case, what a bold dramatic statement, much in the mold of Moore or Speilberg. Surely, this socially aware filmmaker will go far.
