I have been following with embarrassment and shame the case of Gillian Gibbons and her class teddy bear. To construe that naming a child's toy Muhammad is an insult to our beloved Prophet is unreasonable. To protest it is ludicrous. To carry it so far as to bring a criminal conviction against Gibbons and to call for her execution is sheer madness.
The actions of the Sudanese government and people in this regard have the effect of portraying Muslims as being small-minded, overly touchy and paranoid, ready to perceive insult where none is intended, and, more dangerously, given to resolving all differences through violence. It is not Gibbons who brings shame to Islam. It is the reaction of Muslims to her action that brings shame to Islam.
The atrocities that are currently taking place in Sudan are not only an insult to Islam but to all humankind. My brothers and sisters in Islam would be better served by raising their voices against the travesty that is Darfur. A nation that encourages the genocide of its people and that allows innocent men, women and children to be massacred is the real enemy of Islam

Muslims who think like the author of this piece should be encouraged for their virtue and praised fo rtheir courage.
The lunatics in the Sudan are indeed an insult to Islam. They are raising a human being - Mohammad - to the level of a god, something Islam is supposed to oppose as a pure monotheistic faith. They are deomnstrating to all the world their ingratitude towards a selfless individual who was there for no other purpose than to educate their children.
What has been going on in the southern Sudan for years is an affront to humanity - pesecuting Christians and Animists and killing Muslims who are not Arabs. This is ethnic and religious “cleansing”.
They should go back and read their own scriptures - CAREFULLY - if they CAN read, that is.
Yet.
I got some news for the author: this latest teddy bear incident is merely the latest of countless incidents showing Muslims to be all of the above.
Perhaps. Or maybe instead they should be mocked for lacking the courage or intelligence to leave such an obviously evil enterprise as Islam.

Their reaction makes them look very weak minded and very childish...a small child throwing a temper tantrum...at least we’re seeing some adults of the islam religion speaking out against the ridiculousness of all this...the more moslems behave in this manner the more one realizes...how silly islam is...
