Hugh Hewitt Gives List of Books for Christmas Presents
Townhall ^ | hugh hewitt

This time of year I am often asked to recommend books. My list has some titles familiar to anyone who listens to the show, and some new names as well.

But first, for small children, try one or all of the five DVDs in the Life at the Pond series. Like VeggieTales, the Pond is a hit with parents who want their younger children to get a message as well as a laugh and a story.

Now, to a list twenty books that should provide something for everyone on your list.

That’s pretty cheap. I think I’ll give lists of books for Christmas presents, too!...............

For those who want to laugh, or at least smile:

Lileks' Gastroanomolies, Gallery of Regrettable Food, Mommy Knows Worst, and Interior Descecrations

Wrong! Lileks' books are for those who want to howl with laughter until you are unable to breathe and you abdominal muscles are in agony.

Just so “A Mormon in the Whitehouse?” isn’t on the list

Yes my children would love that...not! I think they would hate Santa for life. This guy might be out of touch.

Of course, Hugh’s book was on the list!!! I wouldn’t buy anything that had Jonathon Alter’s or Jeffrey Toobin’s name on it. Hugh really knows how to promote himself!

I hinted just this morning (and not very subtly) to my husband that I want The Forgotten Man for Christmas. Glad to see that it's on the list.

Why would he bother to write a book if he didn’t think it worthy for his Christmas list?

I’ve got my list for Hugh.

1) Why Harriet Miers Wouldn’t Make a Good Supreme Court Justice

and

2) Why Hugh Hewitt Should Pay More Attention to the Second Amendment

Honest folks, the guy does some stellar work at times (e.g. the Amnesty Bill) however, there are times when he’s off base - as in WAY OFF. Of course he’s in the tank for Mitt, too. Nothing wrong with stating a preference. Nothing wrong with having your guy. Just don’t pretend to be unbiased. He was big media for a while (PBS) so I guess he hasn’t figured that part out.

Probably not. I would forget it, but he won’t. He’s the good spouse of the two.

Okay, these are some pretty funny responses to Hugh. Well worth the post.

I hope he reads this stuff and gets a good laugh.

“Nothing wrong with stating a preference. Nothing wrong with having your guy. Just don’t pretend to be unbiased.”

Amen - I usually have enjoyed listening to him, just not during this season for this very reason.
