A teen whose father denied him college tuition because he would not become a Republican now is raising funds for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Teddy Gambordella, 19, who launched a Web site in 2006 to raise money for college, has tweaked it not only to raise funds for his own education but also to generate up to $125,000 for the Clinton campaign.

Mr. Gambordella, a freshman at Brookhaven Community College in Dallas, said splitting the funds will allow his fans to invest in him and the presidential candidate. “Half of it would be for the better of the country now and half of it would be for the better of the country’s

As a Highland Park High School junior, Mr. Gambordella started a Web site – onemillionreasonswhy.com – in which people could buy pixel space as advertising on the site and their money would support him through college. **snip**

He said he supports Mrs. Clinton because: “The best times of my life were right before Bush – when (Bill) Clinton was in office and I thought, ‘What works?’”

... but he grew up thinking that sex was okay and lying was the standard to stay out of trouble. What 10 year old wouldn’t think that was heaven once his hormones kicked in.

A teen whose father denied him college tuition because he would not become a Republican...

As misguided as he is, I don't blame him for telling his dad to go pound sand. Manipulative, controlling parents suck, no matter what political stripe they sport, especially when they attempt to control the thoughts and opinions of their children. Is nothing sacred, even someone's own inner thoughts and opinions?

Can the Dallas Morning News try just as hard to find some “slighted” child of a Democrat who is now supporting a Republican? Oh, I forgot. That wouldn’t fit the template.

Breathtaking stupidity.

I could consider Jimmy Carter’s time in office as the best time of my life too. I was only a kid and didn’t have a care in the world. Gas lines didn’t bother me a bit, course I only rode my bike within a few blocks of home.

For those of you who don’t know Dallas—Highland Park High School is the richest of the rich. Looks to me like the father has realized he has raised a loser, and is trying to push him into the real world.

Agree. The father sounds like a real jerk, not allowing his son to take a political stance of his own, even if it is the polar opposite of his.

No seriously, this is what passes for critical thinking among the younger generation these days. You could attempt to engage this dolt in a debate on specific instances and failures of the CLinton administration, but for people like this, it's all about "feelings" - WHat feels good. What a narcissistic fool. I fear for our country in the hands of people like this.

I have to figure out how to pay for next semester,” said the registered Democrat hoping to study political science.

Note that this is not a successful venture yet. It looks like he is trying to get some money out of Hillery and how will he do with that?

Instead of working, he is trying his version of a lottery ticket.

Eventually he will come around and agree with Dad.

So this kid intends to pay for college by cyber panhandling instead of getting a job, it’s a surprise he’s a lib?

19 and he’s started his own business and putting himself thru school. He’s probably more like his dad than he wants to admit. He’s young. 10 years max and he’ll be calling himself conservative?

Well I hadn’t thought about it but I was pretty happy when I was 10 years old as well. But unfortunately Eisenhower isn’t available for re-election now.

Yeah, he probably broke out in zits as soon as GWB was inaugurated. Since he didn't have them when clinton was in office, that must have been Bush's fault. What impressive logic.

Think this might be a slight mischaracterization of the father's intentions?

I disagree, Dad’s money, Dad’s choice. Son also had a choice and he made his.
