WOLF BLITZER: But but (applause) I think the specific question the specific question is do you believe literally it was done in six days and it occurred 6,000 years ago?
KURT EVANS: Much of the astronomical evidence appears to indicate periods of time greater than the roughly 6000 years the Bible seems to allow since the beginning of creation, but I think it's important to remember that if the original positions of the stars placed the earth near the center of a deep interstellar gravity well, then according to Einstein's general theory of relativity, the effects of gravitational time dilation could very easily have caused billions of years to elapse in other parts of the universe while only a few hours elapsed at the surface of the earth.
And I'll save you the trouble of asking your next question, Wolf, by saying I believe that surface is approximately spherical and not flat.
Not elected?
Huckabees boat has sprung a leak... Theres a murmur from the crowd.. its starting to grow louder. If you listen youll be able to hear their words:
SINK HUCK SINK
SINK HUCK SINK
SINK HUCK SINK
Mike Huckabee spreads that word by reason and not by fire and brimstone, and thus the animus against him by the far left and a faction on FR.
Today he said: “That’s an irrelevant question to ask me - I’m happy to answer what I believe, but what I believe is not what’s going to be taught in 50 different states,” Huckabee said. “Education is a state function. The more state it is, and the less federal it is, the better off we are.”
I hope that doesn’t burst his RINO bubble.
The Huckster is going to be on the defensive more than he likes....now that he is a contender.
I’ll take this rare oppurtunity to agree with you. That said, I’m no Huckabee fan.
We don't care a whit about how he spreads his faith. That's his business. We care about is his open-borders mentality. We care about his history of $505 million in higher taxes. We care about his desire to close Guantanamo, not out of principle, but because of what the "world" thinks about it.
Lousy editing on the part of this reporter. When referring to God, "He" should be capitalized. Otherwise, it looks like a Democrat wrote the scrip. Just my opinion.
“When referring to God, ‘He’ should be capitalized.”
I almost always write it that way, and I thought about doing so here, but I’ve heard it can be jarring to readers who aren’t used to it. Hopefully He’s not going to make me the target of His wrath now. :-)
Huckabee, however, is an abomination.
The First Amendment requires that expressions of faith be neither prohibited nor preferred. We should not banish religion from the public square, but should guarantee access to all voices and views. We should share and debate our faith, but never seek to impose it. When discussing faith and politics, we should honor the "candid" in candidate - I have much more respect for an honest atheist than a disingenuous believer.
My faith is my life - it defines me. My faith doesn't influence my decisions, it drives them. For example, when it comes to the environment, I believe in being a good steward of the earth. I don't separate my faith from my personal and professional lives.
Real faith makes us humble and mindful, not of the faults of others, but of our own. It makes us less judgmental, as we see others with the same frailties we have. Faith gives us strength in the face of injustice and motivates us to do our best for "the least of us."
Our nation was birthed in a spirit of faith - not a prescriptive one telling us whether to believe, but one acknowledging that a providence pervades our world.
Governor Huckabee says humans are unique creations of God (June 5)
WOW! That’s a hugh and series statement....for a Baptist minister....
Maybe not.
That question served no other purpose than to try to turn others against Huckabee on the grounds of his religious beliefs.
I’m not a fan of Huckabee. At all. But this type of questioning is only they type of questioning aimed at Republicans and is, in my humble opinion, out of line.
It has predominantly been aimed at Romney to this point. If Huckabee were nominated, I’d expect it to majorly increase in volume with him, as well.

I respect your opinion. I come at it from the other perspective: I’d like to see them try to nail Democrats down with questions like these too.
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth. To me its pretty simple, a person either believes that God created this process or believes that it was an accident and that it just happened all on its own.”
I’m sure if God did all that, He could quite easily have created an evolutionary process that led to the human race as well.

The evidence is that billions of years passed here on earth.
