*snort* My first car was an AMC Rebel. Drove fine, but it had crappy door hardware!
I once worked part-time at a mall store, and had to keep the display windows clean. What drove me nuts were the little kids who pressed their noses against the window. I kept having to clean the snot marks off the glass - all at about a 3-foot height from the floor.
Fred sold ladies ?
Que the Blues brothers “how much for the women”.......
And we knew Hillary was fishy already......(stopping there)
I never thought about until you said it but that does seem to make some jobs suck. Just like different commands I was assigned to while in the Navy. The best commands were the ones with great supervisors.
I look forward to dancing at your wedding.
[OF course, it’ll be a sock hop.]
I guess when you have a kid out of wedlock you best be thankful to be able to put food on the table.
Another great Fred Thompson interview!

Was all-you-can-eat part of his compensation package, or was he embezzling from his employer?
I noticed that too and was amazed that he would so carelessly admit to such moral laxity. But a little googling reveals that quite a few people who have worked at Baskin-Robbins claim that free ice cream was part of the job.
You and me both! Imagine that on your tax returns.
Worst job for me was a week spent picking watermelons in Texas in the summer. That sucked.
My other jobs have been generally pretty good, though working in a hospital does have its drawbacks, like getting “borrowed” to babysit cranky combative crazy patients, especially ones who throw various excretions at you. NOT fun. There are times where I wish I were back recovering or delivering rental cars. The pay sucked, but at least it was generally fun. I mostly worked alone and didnt have to pay for the fuel, either.
Would not want to actaully pay an American wage, I understand.
Gutting fish “prepared” her for running the Clintonista War Room and treating all political opponents as enemies to be destroyed.
I don’t know about B-R but in high school I worked for a “Farrell’s” ice cream parlor (anyone been to one? they used to be growing chain but then were bought and sold by Marriott and I don’t know what happened to them).
Anyway, at Farrell’s there was absolutely a strict “no freebies” policy (we did get employee discounts but no freebies). This policy was so strict that anytime a sundae, etc. was made wrong by accident the policy was it had to be dumped in the trash, and the manager often did it personally if he was nearby (idea was that you don’t want employees creating any “accidents” for their own consumption).
SO, yes, it would be interesting to find out whether Obama Hussein was stealing from his employer, or buying all that excessive ice cream consumption legitimately......
Management can make a huge difference.
As a teen, my mom worked at See’s Candy. Free candy was part of the job, but she said most employees took full advantage the first week or so, and then got candied out and left it alone from there on.
Obama should have used McCain’s answer; what he said makes him look ridiculous.
One summer I worked for a prestigious Ivy League university cleaning out apartments that were rented to graduate students. It was amazing how dirty some of those people were. The job had some good points, though, occasionally you would get into an apartment where they left liquor behind (and the boss didn’t get to it first).
I'm surprised he didn't say "The toughest job I've ever had was when I heroically dealt with the 9/11 attacks."
