SampleMan,
That is very generic answer.. unfortunately some of us prefer to give a more detailed answer that accurately reflects how/what we actually believe not just a PC response.... but thanks for sharing anyway..

I too read pissantâs response and initially reacted negatively but I did not post. After looking for context on the statement made by pissant, because I know from previous posts pissant is a good freeper, I now understand what he was saying and agree with him.

Do you believe in every word of this book? Can you imagine the Democrat candidates being asked this question? It would never happen. Ever.

He said his favorite scripture are the ones beginning in Chapter 9 verse 11.
That doesn't answer the question.

It should have read: I do not have any use for Protestantism.

I too am getting excited about Hunter, everything I have read about him sounds good thus far. Love his answer to the question. Finally, a politician willing to give a clear “yes” or “no” answer.
To: Sopater
He said his favorite scripture are the ones beginning in Chapter 9 verse 11.LOL... Has he EVER answered a single question that did not include the numbers 9 & 11?

He has my vote, and my support...
I don't believe he will get the nomination, but I hope he is invited to be the VP candidate.....
IMHO, I think a Thompson/Hunter Ticket would make a very formidable combination.

I caught one of the debates where someone asked if the candidates believed in creation or evolution. I think Huckabee answered that he was a creationist, while Guliani had a ridiculous smirk on his face as if to say “Can you BELIEVE what this guy is saying!”.
Guliani is no more a Christain than Mullah Omar, in my point of view, based on what he’s said and what he’s done.

That is very generic answer.. unfortunately some of us prefer to give a more detailed answer that accurately reflects how/what we actually believe not just a PC response.... but thanks for sharing anyway.. And if they asked "boxers or briefs" would you also give a detailed answer? The point of the question was to create a religious test (by the MSM) that should be addressed and refuted first and foremost.
I want to know about a potential POTUS's general morality base and whether they uphold Western/Christian values. As we do not have a State Church, I don't need to know about whether the candidate believes in predestination, purgatory, or a literal Adam and Eve. Attempts to take a candidate down that path are directed squarely on baiting a Republican candidate into saying something that will offend some faith or denomination.
That is not PC, it is staying on subject and refusing to play your opponent's game.

Well, anyone after the fact can be eloquent. I wish he was able to answer it. Maybe he should have made his answer known immediately after to a reporter.
But at least his after-the-fact reply is on record, and should satisfy some people. Unlike Romney who says religion ends at the door of the whitehouse, which I find strange. I like romney, but I didn’t feel like there was a huge need to have a speech about it. The only people that wanted to hear it are the ones that are curious about the year of food in the basement, and the multiple wives doctrine.
