By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

My company is closed on December 24th. It’s not like any work would get done anyway...

Our company asked for volunteers to work so the majority could have off. I volunteered. It will be quiet and I can wear my jammies if I want to! lol Then I get an extra 8 hours to take another time. :)

That’s good! No work gets done anyway, as others have commented, and it also does make life easier for people who have to travel or even just get their Christmas presents out. Plus it reaffirms what is our tradition, here, in our country.

We, the “little people”, have to work that day. Who else is going to pay the “chosen ones” their outrageous salaries? Give me a break. I’m so disgusted anymore with Washington. Fat a$$ hogs living off the scraps of the “little people”. Their day of reckoning will come someday and not too soon.

Most of “we the people” do have 12/24 off as an employer provided benefit.

I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect an employer, the federal government, to offer it off as a benefit as well.

Before the EO, federal employees were scheduled for ten days off in calendar year 2007. Ten to eleven days seems pretty typical.

Good for him! People should be home with their families on Christmas Eve. And America will hardly be the worse off for these people not working a day.

Really? Neither my husband or I work on the 24th . . . and while he is a handsomely ‘big’ man, I’m on the “little” end of the continuum!

RELAX . . . ‘tis the season to be jolly!

To listen to the unions though the president has no heart and does not care about working people, especially government employees.

All federal employees off December 24th (except athiests). That would have burned ‘em.

And the long-time one - Rob Sherman - here in Illinois who has been filing lawsuits for years.

This is Government's form of a bonus. Non-essential folks get paid day off, others are treated same as holiday, double-time.

In 35 years as an ATC, I only recall 3 or 4 years when we didn't get it, although there were a couple of times we got 4 hours instead of 8.

Geeeez, get real! So now no work is going to get done on the 21st! Declare the 21st a "day off" and no work would get done on the 20th - ad infinitum!

Come to think of though, that's not a bad idea at all, hehehehehe! Just another gubmint free day!

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Grant pardons to the two border guards. (would have been my choice)
