In fact, if I worked in the private sector I'd be making a hell of a lot more than I am now.

>>>With pay!
With pay providing you have annual leave accrued to cover 8 hours. If not, you don’t get paid and the bosses are pissed that you didnt have 8 hours saved up.

Right. It should be referred to as the day off before the winter equinox festival.

I find little work gets done between Thanksgiving and Christmas; especially from female employees. Relax ladies I can prove it and no point in arguing it.

Well, I work for the Executive branch as well. I already had that day scheduled off as a day of annual leave, so this just means that I have one more day off that I can save, you know...being that fat a** hog that I am.
This is nothing new for the government to do. They have been doing it for years. And trust me, you have to answer to no one about where you work. I put in an honest day for an honest dollar (and it’s seriously not much more than that....lol). I could take my Masters degree to the private industry and make about twice what I make here, but then again, downsizing is a horrible word to a man with a family.

"Right. It should be referred to as the day off before the winter equinox festival." Too much reference to the northern hemisphere. People in Brazil might take offense.

Winter Solstice.
U.S. Code does refer to it as Christmas though.

With or without pay?
MOST of us will be off work that day.. with pay... what is the big deal. It is Christmas, a time to be with family and friends and celebrate in whatever way we so choose.

Please show me were in my pay check is there any “outrageous Salaries”? What Bush did was give the little guy off. The “chosen ones” already had off.
Thanks Mr. Presedent!
