Thompson Flier in Iowa Attacks Huckabee

"Why is Mike Huckabee attacking Fred Thompson?" asks a new flier sent out in Iowa this week by the Thompson campaign.

But, it is the former Tennessee Senator and GOP hopeful who has launched criticism of former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark., who leads Thompson in the most recent Iowa polls.

The fliers, which were mailed to Iowa voters Tuesday, tie the former Arkansas governor to another former Arkansas governor -- former President Bill Clinton.

The mailer features side-by-side profile pictures of both Huckabee and Bill Clinton, say the two "share a D lifetime rating for their tax and spend policies."

The flier also states Huckabee, "talks like a Republican but taxes like a Democrat," while outlining Thompson's tax relief plan, which includes several tax cuts.

This flier is the latest outreach to Iowa voters by the Thompson campaign as January 3rd approaches. Despite airing television ads in the state, Thompson has yet to gain momentum in the polls in Iowa.

He heads to Iowa today for his sixth visit to the early-voting state.

Won’t work. The Huckabee supporters don’t care about taxes or smaller government. They want to control government to impose their beliefs on others - and that takes money. Preferably other people’s money!

Actually Huckabee did start the dust up with one of his mailers where he quite falsely quoted Thompson. Oh it was a Thompson quote...but Huckabee cut it off before the end of the quote which gave what Thompson said a much different meaning.
If Huck is leading in the polls why resort to such tactics to begin with?

Sheer desperation? Hmmm. Once Iowans and pubs nationally discover that Huckabee is just another slick Arkansas politician like Clinton we will see sheer desperation for sure.

If and when the surge for Fred Thompson happens, I wonder if you will still call his campaign desperate.

I am trying to determine who the worse Republican nominee could be: Rudy Guiliani, Mike Huckabee or Ron Paul?

Fred got hornswaggled into hiring some immature young punks to run his campaign. All they want to do is attack like rabid bulldogs, without doing anything to show Fred’s outstanding qualifications to be our president in a positive way. It may be too late to fix it now, if the article above is an indication of how things are being run today.

Huckabee also needs to be seriously attacked for being a “nanny politician”!

Good Stuff.

This is needed.

Huckabee needs to be stopped.

Eight years has been long enough for our party to be headed at the top by a RINO Compassionate Conservative.

Time to return to True Conservatism.

And it ain't through Huck, that's for sure.

I will get that flyer, by e mail, to as many people I can think of in Iowa in the next few weeks. Especially areas where Huck is running hard.

You can count on me to derail the Gomer Pyle Express.
