My two sons are both adopted. I’ve taught them that if we take in an animal, we are forever responsible for that life. Even if the critter turns out to be a pain in the rear end, we will be faithful to fulfill our obligations.

******************************

I AGREE!! I have a cat we took in 10 years ago. She has dementia or something and keeps pooping and peeing on the outside of the box, then try to ‘cover it up’ from inside the box. As much as I’m ashamed I think while cleaning it up “DIE CAT DIE!!”. But since my father also has dementia and I can’t scream that while cleaning up his similiar mess, I feel I am just stuck. If she did die, I’d miss the hell out of her.

What a scumbucket. That is as low as it gets right there. No, I shouldn’t say that because I’m sure somebody will top it.
One of the engineers where I work took in a foster girl and then threw her back when she became adolescent and “inconvenient” to their lifestyle. This guy’s wife was a real dipstick. Thankfully he has moved on to other pursuits because every time I would happen to see him, my gorge would rise in disgust.

Sounds like a real family man. Not.

Good for you. That’s the way I raised my children, as well.

Talk about the throw-away mentality....

The girl, who speaks English and Cantonese but not Korean, is neither a citizen of her adoptive parents' country nor a Hong Kong resident, so her future in the territory is uncertain.

The bolded section kind of tells you all you need to know about their intentions towards this child. They never bothered to get her citizenship with their home country. They're not gonna win any parenthood awards, that's for sure.

That poor thing. She has no recollection of any other parents. Imagine the horror of being “given away” by her parents like that. My heart is breaking for her.

Devastating for her. I can’t imagine how this has not already caused her irreparable psychological harm. I hope some good family takes her in and helps her deal with this...otherwise, her teenage years will likely get even worse.

The man and his wife adopted the girl as a four-month-old in Korea...

The father should be returned to non-existence.

I wonder what life will be like for the two natural daughters he has. He obvioulsy regards children as disposable.

What if the animal turns rabid? Can you shoot it in the head with the .22?

That is the sickest thing I’ve ever read, giving up your daughter after six and a half years. And poor momma, having to go into therapy while a little girl gets told that the only parents she’s ever known has chosen not from economic situation, or any other reason, that it just didn’t work out... Some diplomat.

Well yea, if you don’t like it, return it or throw it away, regardles of what it may be, we live in a disposable society, doesn’t matter if it’s a camera or a child, don’t like it, get rid of it.............unfreakinbelievable.....and for this little girl, when one door closes sweetheart, another bigger/BETTER door will open

Life doesn’t present us with cookie cutter children. We have them, we adopt them, and we deal with them. We do our best to nerture them. That is all we can do.

To take a four month old child and bond with her over the next six plus years, then abandon her, is unforgivable. It is a betrayal of the highest order. The only parents this child has ever know, have opted to throw here away.

This poor thing may not have had the two most important hearts outside of her own, but she has thousands (and growing) more pulling for her today. Her parents may not have had hearts, but there are billions of us out here who do, and this little girl will always have the love and support of those who come to know her story.

It is quite comforting to know that even in the stories that reveal humans of the lowest order, humans of the highest rush in to help.

Of course. And if my house was on fire, I'd get my family out before I considered my dogs.

But I want my (adopted) boys to know they are unconditionally my sons, and that my wife is unconditionally my wife. They have talked me into adopting cats before, and then wanted to get rid of the cats when they did something unpleasant or when they got scratched. I taught them we train the animal to behave, but we don't abandon them even if they become inconvenient to us.

I have a close friend at church who began to behave poorly. My boys saw me press in and discover what was going on with him. They saw me help him face his issues and come out the other end of his situation a better man. But it would have been a lot easier to say to heck with him and let him run off his last friend.

Not enough info.......

Not enough info? They had this child for seven years and then decided no thanks? What do you want to see, that she ran with scissors?
