Her first shot(s) took him down but did not kill him. As she was covering him he started to handle a grenade. She said something like "Don't do it dude." He ignored her. She blew him away.

Well, that certainly sheds some new light on the pastor's comment that she might have saved "hundreds" of lives. A few grenades tossed into a packed congregation could likely kill that many.
